Clark is the 17th commitment in the 2015 recruiting class.

Despite the disappointing loss to Boston College Saturday, Hokies' visitor Austin Clark was impressed enough to change his commitment from South Carolina to Virginia Tech.

Big news for Va Tech on the football recruiting front. Rockbridge Co. (VA) senior OL Austin Clark is now committed to the Hokies.

Clark is a 6'6" 300-pound offensive lineman from Rockbridge County High School in Lexington, Va. According to 247Sports Clark is rated as a four-star prospect and ranked the 15th best offensive tackle in the nation as well as the 8th best prospect in Virginia. He becomes the highest rated recruit in Tech's 2015 class according to 247.

247Sports lists tight ends coach Bryan Stinespring and offensive line coach Stacy Searels as Tech's lead recruiters for Clark.

Clark committed to South Carolina back in June after visiting a number of school's but had a change of heart recently and took an unofficial visit to Blacksburg Saturday before making his decision.

Interestingly, both the Gamecocks and Hokies are mired in tough seasons with 4-5 overall records.
