KW: celebrity apprentice

"The Celebrity Apprentice" will soon make its new season debut, but this time Arnold Schwarzenegger will helm the Boardroom instead of Donald Trump. On the reality show, business-minded celebrities are divided into teams to perform assigned tasks and win challenges in hopes of becoming the last contestant standing and winning money for the charity of their choice.

Some of the TV show’s past winners have included Leeza Gibbons, Trace Adkins, Bret Michaels, Joan Rivers and Arsenio Hall. This year’s cast has yet to be announced, but here are 30 money-savvy celebrities that would be great additions to the show.

kris jenner

Kris Jenner is the backbone of the Kardashian empire with a net worth of $40 million. This momager manages the careers of all six of her children and is an executive producer of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

This housewife-turned-mogul would be a great choice for the show because she has successfully turned her family into an international brand. Each of Jenner's six children are now a household name, thanks to her tireless promotional efforts and merchandising skills that have scored them clothing lines, boutiques, perfume deals, hair and makeup lines, books and more — in addition to a hit TV show.

victoria beckham

Victoria Beckham successfully reinvented herself from Spice Girl to Britain’s most successful entrepreneur in 2014. She founded her fashion empire in 2008 and increased sales by 2,900 percent. She also grew her workforce by 3,233 percent in the first five years of running her business increasing her net worth to $300 million.

The no-nonsense fashion designer would be a strong contestant because Beckham knows what it takes to build a strong brand and isn’t afraid to break out of her comfort zone to achieve success.

3. Sean 'Diddy' Combs

sean combs

Sean Combs has come a long way since his rise to fame as a rap artist under the stage name Puff Daddy — later P. Diddy, then just Diddy. Since then, he’s created an empire that includes his Sean John clothing line, Ciroc vodka and the TV network Revolt. All these business ventures have allowed him to amass a net worth of $730 million.

Combs would be a fantastic contestant because he’s not afraid to take a chance on ventures out of his comfort zone, and his work ethic ensures he puts his all into every project he takes on. He’s also a natural leader, with a great deal of experience developing talent from his days of commandeering Bad Boy Entertainment, which could help him succeed as a project manager on the show.

4. Jay Z

jay z

Shawn Carter, better known as Jay Z, developed a street smart business acumen growing up as a teenager in Brooklyn, N.Y. He used his hustle to become one of the best-selling music artists of all time. As host of many ventures — including music management company Roc Nation, Rocawear clothing line, the 40/40 Club chain and investments in technology, software, real estate and movie production — Jay Z’s net worth is $650 million.

Jay Z would be a competitive force on the show because he thinks outside the box and is a problem solver. For example, he launched the streaming service Tidal in response to shrinking profit margins for artists who earn very little for their music on platforms like Pandora and Spotify.

5. Lisa Vanderpump

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-228850897/stock-photo-los-angeles-nov-lisa-vanderpump-at-the-lisa-vanderpump-launches-pop-culture-living-at-the.html?src=VbkzsxpSVm-p34owJ2xvsg-1-0

lisa vanderpump

Lisa Vanderpump is a restaurateur, entrepreneur and one of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” She has partnered with her husband to open more than 25 restaurants, bars and clubs, in addition to a luxury online pet boutique, a home collection, a sangria brand and a skin care line. Her net worth is $65 million.

Vanderpump’s no-nonsense attitude would allow her to thrive on the show, as she’s not afraid to make tough business decisions. In 2015, she opted to fire a server who is a main cast member on her hit show “Vanderpump Rules,” for challenging a manager’s authority at the restaurant. She also doesn’t play favorites, as she is notoriously making her son work his way up the ranks at her restaurant, instead of simply giving him a job in management.

6. Donnie Wahlberg

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-222739813/stock-photo-los-angeles-oct-donnie-wahlberg-at-the-new-kids-on-the-block-hollywood-walk-of-fame-star.html?src=PruaelAccNZ7g6UvAZyEFA-1-3

donnie wahlberg

The New Kids on the Block heartthrob balances a hectic schedule with starring roles on the TV shows “Blue Bloods,” “Donnie Loves Jenny,” “Wahlburgers” and “Rock This Boat: New Kids on the Block." He even serves as executive producer on the latter three, adding to his $20 million net worth. He is also a hands-on partner in the rapidly expanding burger chain Wahlburgers, which he owns with his brothers Mark and Paul.

Wahlberg should be on the show because of his outstanding work ethic and ability to know what it takes to build a successful business.

7. Andy Cohen

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-192767027/stock-photo-los-angeles-may-andy-cohen-at-the-a-night-with-top-chef-at-television-academy-on-may.html?src=_J1CnQCjcnFCeD16gCc8Ew-1-6

Helga Esteb / Shutterstock.com

andy cohen

Andy Cohen is the host of Bravo’s “Watch What Happens: Live,” executive producer of “The Real Housewives” franchise and a New York Times best selling author. He previously served as a Bravo executive for 10 years and has amassed a net worth of $15 million. Cohen also created his own production company and reached an agreement with Bravo to develop primetime programming for the network, leveraging his personal stake in the shows he creates.

Cohen would be a great asset to the show because he’s a forward-thinker who knows he’s replaceable and is willing to do what it takes to stay in the game. After all, he successfully transitioned from an executive working behind-the-scenes to a popular on-camera personality, solidifying his importance to the network.

8. Vincent Kartheiser

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-339209549/stock-photo-los-angeles-mar-vincent-kartheiser-arrives-at-the-mad-men-season-premiere-screening-on.html?src=dyDVkyXFi1ugGsWdS9bmSg-1-15

vincent kartheiser

Best known for his work as Pete Campbell on “Mad Men,” Vincent Kartheiser is a levelheaded actor. He lived in a 603 sq. ft. Hollywood bungalow for a decade and took public transportation around Los Angeles for years, until finally purchasing a $20,000 Volkswagen. His net worth is $5 million.

The financially savvy Kartheiser would make a fantastic contestant because of his excellent money management skills.

9. Jessica Alba

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-309046313/stock-photo-los-angeles-apr-jessica-alba-arrives-at-the-mtv-movie-awards-on-april-in-los.html?src=-SbMAWP-2zzXYNmEH8noeA-1-12

Ga Fullner / Shutterstock.com

jessica alba

Jessica Alba is an actress worth $350 million. Alba is also the co-founder of The Honest Company, which sells over 120 natural products — from diapers to skincare. After co-founding The Honest Company in 2011, Alba helped grow revenues from $10 million in 2012 to $150 million in 2014. The actress-turned-businesswoman makes a point to surround herself with smart people and isn’t afraid to ask for help.

Alba is an obvious choice for the show because she’s a great leader who clearly knows how to build a profitable business from the ground up.

10. Will Ferrell

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-263782805/stock-photo-los-angeles-mar-will-ferrell-at-the-get-hard-premiere-at-the-tcl-chinese-theater-on-march.html?src=9dApSB_oCoIVHTilhncO3w-1-26

Helga Esteb / Shutterstock.com

will ferrell

Will Ferrell is best known for his hilarious antics on the big screen, but behind-the-scenes he’s actually a very savvy businessman. Ferrell founded the popular website Funny Or Die with Adam McKay and Chris Henchy, which is valued at $100 to $300 million. The trio also owns the production companies Gary Sanchez Productions and Gloria Sanchez Productions. The actor commands $15 million per movie and his net worth is $100 million.

Ferrell would be a fantastic contestant because he truly knows his audience and will do anything for a sale. For example, Ferrell suited up as Ron Burgundy to promote “Anchorman 2” so many times, he is rumored to have given the studio at least $20 million in free publicity.

11. Leonardo DiCaprio

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-168039548/stock-photo-new-york-dec-leonardo-dicaprio-attends-the-premiere-of-the-wolf-of-wall-street-at-the.html?src=D1WEFcVNgDhcGfO1nNYUMA-1-8

JStone / Shutterstock.com

leonardo dicaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio is an internationally known actor who earns approximately $20 million per movie, but he owes much of his $245 million net worth to smart investing. He backs a number of innovative startups, including Rubicon Global, Casper Sleep Inc., Diamond Foundry and Mobli.

DiCaprio would be great on the show because he knows how to manage risk and return to grow a profit.

12. Nas

rapper nas

Famous rapper Nas made a name for himself with hits like “I Can” and “If I Ruled the World." But he’s also a founding partner of Queensbridge Venture Partners, which includes Dropbox, Lyft and Tradesy in its portfolio adding to his $20 million net worth.

Nas’ experience working with startups and helping them grow their brand would make him a strong contestant on the show. He understands the importance of relationships in business and knows investing in the right people will help him grow his own bottom line.

13. Sarah Jessica Parker

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-185460008/stock-photo-sarah-jessica-parker-at-bravo-s-upfront-party-skylight-studios-new-york-ny-march.html?src=QfTs4jlUCHymT2JjhT-w1A-1-50

sarah jessica parker

Sarah Jessica Parker is best known for playing the role of shoe-obsessed fashionista Carrie Bradshaw on HBO’s “Sex and the City” — and she’s turned her legacy into a business venture. In addition to creating a popular fragrances and scoring endorsement deals with Garnier and Jordache, she launched her own line of SJP shoes in 2014 adding to her $90 million net worth.

Parker knows the value of finding your niche and sticking to it. She would be a strong addition to the cast because she embraced her onscreen persona and transitioned it into a successful real-life business venture.

14. Bono

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-270537005/stock-photo-los-angeles-ca-march-bono-of-u-at-the-th-annual-academy-awards-at-the-hollywood.html?src=YYNdJFa6CnyuMOuT-fyaQA-1-23

Jaguar PS / Shutterstock.com

bono

Bono rose to fame rocking U2 stages across the globe, but he’s also a serious tech investor who is the managing director and co-founder of the private equity firm Elevation Partners. He’s invested in big tech companies — both independently and through his firm — including Facebook, Yelp and Dropbox adding to his net worth of $700 million.

Bono's firm invested $210 million in Facebook in 2009 and 2010, which grew to an estimated $1.5 billion when the site went public in 2012 — and it's still growing. The creative thinker also craftily resurrected a failing U2 in 2004, by giving Apple the rights to the song “Vertigo” for an iPod commercial and starring in the advertisement for the innovative mp3 player. This multitalented musician and investor would prevail on the show because he’s always one step ahead of everyone else and knows how to invest wisely.

15. Ashton Kutcher

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-150179423/stock-photo-los-angeles-aug-ashton-kutcher-at-the-jobs-los-angeles-screening-at-the-regal-theaters.html?src=jhwLMgIpRnvNsd4A7V6eYA-1-19

Helga Esteb / Shutterstock.com

ashton kutcher

The handsome actor is much more than just a pretty face — he’s a serious tech investor. Ashton Kutcher has invested approximately $100 million of his $160 million net worth into startups like Airbnb, Spotify and Foursquare.

Kutcher's experience with startups would make him a competitive force on the show. He understands there are obstacles to success, and he knows how to handle failure and setbacks. Kutcher also understands the value of having good relationships with the people you work with, which would help him effectively collaborate with the team.

16. Lauren Conrad

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-328982741/stock-photo-los-angeles-oct-lauren-conrad-at-the-sixth-annual-veuve-clicquot-polo-classic-at-the-will.html?src=9mSTc-n9EThuDFXfypXG9A-1-9

Helga Esteb / Shutterstock.com

lauren conrad

Lauren Conrad might be one of America’s sweethearts, but she’s also a skilled businesswoman who has two successful clothing lines — one for Kohl’s and her own label Paper Crown. These business ventures, along with her roles on “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills," have earned her a net worth of $25 million.

The star made the challenging transition from reality TV to fashion designer and lifestyle guru, which would make her a great addition to the cast.

17. Jared Leto

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-256452721/stock-photo-los-angeles-feb-jared-leto-at-the-vanity-fair-oscar-party-at-the-wallis-annenberg.html?src=jgFN7t2o8kOdNzjL9zJLCA-1-1

Helga Esteb / Shutterstock.com

jared leto

Actor and musician Jared Leto is also a savvy businessman who founded three companies: The One and Only Golden Tickets (now Adventures in Wonderland), The Hive and VyRT. He also invested in several other startups, including Zenefits, PayRange, Meerkat and Nest, adding to his $40 million net worth.

Choosing Leto for the cast would be a great move for the reality show, not only because of his long business history, but because he can remain calm under pressure. His ability to be the voice of reason and see the big picture would allow him to rise above the petty disputes that other cast members have succumb to.

18. Ellen DeGeneres

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-263785799/stock-photo-los-angeles-mar-ellen-degeneres-at-the-th-annual-glaad-media-awards-at-the-beverly-hilton.html?src=IjS8zl83_rUquDdQ1i40Uw-1-2

Helga Esteb / Shutterstock.com

ellen degeneres

In addition to the $75 million Ellen DeGeneres is paid per year for “Ellen,” her net worth is $330 million — and that's not all. DeGeneres' Very Good Productions company currently has five shows on the air, she recently developed the video website “ellentube,” has a streaming deal with Vessel, turned a game from her show into the best selling iPhone app of 2014, has a new clothing line and an interior design book.

There's no question the "Queen of Daytime" would be a powerhouse contestant on the show due to her exceptional merchandising skills.

19. George Foreman

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-93668560/stock-photo--mar-george-foreman-at-the-academy-awards-pix-paul-smith.html?src=IAVCMIOoSJs_8zBU_1DGdg-1-0

george foreman

Despite his $250 million net worth, the two-time boxing heavyweight champion continues to work. The athlete-turned-businessman has sold more than 150 million George Foreman Grills — which earned him royalties and $137.5 million in stock and cash — and recently launched the online meat company George Foreman’s Butcher Shop.

Not only does Foreman have a drive to keep working and earning money, but his philosophy to “never say no” to business opportunities would motivate him to do anything it takes to win.

20. Magic Johnson

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-4234108/stock-photo-magic-johnson.html?src=zWFlViuydsIMmf5ytKdYsg-1-6

stocklight / Shutterstock.com

magic johnson

In the nearly 20 years since his retirement, basketball legend Magic Johnson has become a major force in the business world. Magic Johnson Enterprises, Inc. focuses on urban redevelopment and also has a private investment division. The firm helps bring established chain retailers to urban areas and works to make them a success by modifying them to fit the needs of local residents. Johnson’s net worth is $500 million.

Johnson would be a great addition to the show because he doesn’t give up when he truly believes in something. He had to overcome major obstacles to break into the business world as a former athlete, but he stuck with it and eventually built an empire that is really making a difference.

21. Oprah Winfrey

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-262050935/stock-photo-santa-monica-ca-february-oprah-winfrey-at-the-th-annual-film-independent-spirit.html?src=3Mt0t0DH8nyKyvPJQBBmCg-1-0

Jaguar PS / Shutterstock.com

oprah winfrey

Oprah Winfrey has the ultimate rags-to-riches story, growing up in poverty and gradually building a media empire that allowed her to accumulate a net worth of $3.2 billion.

As the founder of Harpo Productions and the Oprah Winfrey Network, Winfrey would be a strong cast member because she stops at nothing to achieve her goals. Her 2014 “The Life You Want Tour” also sold out stadiums across the country — proving she inspires the masses — which would make her a natural leader on the show.

22. Michael Jordan

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-147151361/stock-photo-london-uk-american-basketball-legend-michael-jordan-at-a-special-dinner-hosted-by-him-at-the.html?src=jD6kZ-EQ5N00ywy26RpcYw-1-0

landmarkmedia / Shutterstock.com

michael jordan

Basketball legend Michael Jordan earned $100 million in 2014 alone from Nike and other endorsement deals — which is more than any current or retired athlete. That amount even tops the $94 million he made during the entire length of his NBA career. Fragrance manufacturer XEL paid him $10.6 million just to use his name when marketing a cologne, without him endorsing the product or making any appearances. Jordan officially became a billionaire in 2015, reaching a $1 billion net worth.

Jordan would be a tough competitor on the show because he has mastered the art of business through many genius endorsement deals.

23. Justin Timberlake

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-331067252/stock-photo-los-angeles-oct-justin-timberlake-at-the-glsen-respect-awards-at-the-beverly-wilshire.html?src=fSJgAPtEfMtKu-RfbsaI5Q-1-10

Helga Esteb / Shutterstock.com

justin timberlake

Everything Justin Timberlake touches seemingly turns to gold. The charismatic singer, songwriter, producer, actor, restauranteur and investor has an authenticity that makes people trust him — which is his greatest business asset.

Timberlake would thrive on the show due to his levelheaded business savvy. He has accumulated a net worth of $230 million and has a charming personality ensuring he would be a team favorite.

24. Joseph Gordon-Levitt

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-181019267/stock-photo-santa-monica-ca-march-joseph-gordon-levitt-at-the-film-independent-spirit-awards.html?src=XP-DccYt_Te3brzWyh0ITw-1-3

Jaguar PS / Shutterstock.com

joseph gordon-levitt

Joseph Gordon-Levitt earned most of his $35 million net worth by starring in films like “Inception,” “(500) Days of Summer” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” but he wasn’t content staying in front of the camera. In addition to writing and directing the 2013 movie “Don Jon,” Gordon-Levitt also founded the open and collaborative production company HitRecord.

Gordon-Levitt's constant desire to challenge himself and do something different would make him a great addition to the cast because he wants to do work that’s meaningful.

25. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-185452235/stock-photo-ashley-olsen-mary-kate-olsen-at-women-of-distinction-awards-luncheon-to-benefit-the-krohn-s.html?src=Vp0syviVnI2YH8k95iOIvA-1-11

Everett Collection / Shutterstock.com

mary kate and ashley olsen

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are two separate people, but they’ve successfully navigated the business world together since they were child stars on the TV show “Full House,” so it’s fair to assume they would operate as a team on the show. The duo formed Dualstar Entertainment Group at age 6 and eventually founded fashion labels The Row, Elizabeth and James and Olsenboye adding to their combined $300 million net worth.

The Olsen twins would be a wise choice for the show because they’ve built a reputation for themselves in the fashion industry as legit designers, instead of relying on their celebrity status. As seasoned businesswomen, they know exactly how much they can take on at once and understand the importance of pleasing the customer.

warren buffett

The Oracle of Omaha’s get rich slowly approach to investing has helped him become one of the wealthiest people in the world, with a net worth of $62 billion. Even with his fortune, the notoriously thrifty Warren Buffett has lived in the same Omaha, Neb., home he purchased for $31,500 since 1958 and drove the same 2006 Cadillac for eight years, until trading it in for a newer model in 2014.

Buffett has set the bar high for running a profitable business. His experience and financial expertise alone would make him a great addition to the show.

Lebron James is one of the most popular athletes in the country and leads the NBA in endorsement deals, but he’s already looking ahead to the next step. The business savvy basketball player has a solid plan in place to earn $1 billion — up from his current $300 million — which includes only endorsing companies and products he truly believes in and seeking financial advice from high-powered friends like Warren Buffett.

James would be a competitive force on the show due to his focus on passion instead of money. He also doesn’t hesitate to ask for help when needed.

28. Dr. Dre

dr. dre

Andre Romelle Young, better known as Dr. Dre, rose to fame as part of the rap group N.W.A. He quickly proved he’s more than just a musician by co-founding Death Row Records and Beats by Dr. Dre — the latter of which he sold to Apple in 2014 for $3 billion and received a personal payout of $500 million. Dr. Dre has been smart about his partnerships throughout his career and that has allowed him to accrue a net worth of $810 million.

As an expert marketer who knows how to build brand appeal, and someone who doesn’t surrender to critics, Dr. Dre would be a great asset to the Celebrity Apprentice cast.

29. Rob Gronkowski

rob gronkowski

In his book “It’s Good to Be Gronk,” the charismatic New England Patriots tight end revealed that he’s saved every penny he’s earned during his five-year career in the NFL, opting instead to live off his endorsements. Rob Gronkowski  is worth $15 million and still rents out his personal party bus the “Yo Soy Fiesta." He also founded Gronk Fitness with his family and is hosting a three-day party cruise for fans in 2016.

Gronkowski should be on the show because he’s an excellent marketer who knows exactly who his demographic is and how to reach them.

30. Mauricio Umansky

mauricio umansky

Mauricio Umansky isn’t just a star on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and Kyle Richard's husband, he’s also a successful realtor and the co-founder of real estate firm The Agency. He was named the No. 3 agent in the U.S. for 2015, selling more than $604 million in real estate, earning him a net worth of $30 million.

The Agency’s business model is all about eliminating the traditional competitive nature of real estate agent, in favor of a collaborative environment where all clients and listings are represented by the entire firm. Umansky’s ability to get people to work together as a team would make him a wise choice for the TV show.
