Under fire England playing catch up AGAIN.
Match Odds: England 4/7, Draw, Wales 6/1
England put in a complete English performance in their opening Euro2016 game against Russia, in which they started strongly getting progressively weaker and more defensive as the game went on. Rather than going for the second goal to kill the game they tried to defend a 1-0 lead – and you know what happens when you try to do that! The inquest is still ongoing for the equaliser!
The bookies have responded to Bale’s comments over Wales having more passion than England by offering odds on who will win in an ‘anthem off’ with Ladbrokes going 4/7 on England and 5/4 on Wales.
Wales look huge at 6/1 in a two horse race. They were a little shaky in the opening 10 minutes of their game against Slovakia but really settled down and grew more and more into the game. Anything can happen when you have the best player on the pitch playing for your side. Bale is 13/2 to open the scoring again in a game we expect to be of small margins. A 1-0 win for Wales doesn’t seem the most unlikely of scenarios especially at 16//1? Expect Wales game plan to invite pressure from England and let them have the ball. Don’t be surprised if they can hold them out until half time. Wales +0.5 1st half AH 1.700.
England no doubt about it have the more talented group of players but unlike Wales still don’t seem like a proper unit, Roy’s constant changing of formations hasn’t helped – Does he even know what is best xi is? In the friendlies they played a diamond, against Russia adopted a 4-3-3 system, God knows what formation it will be come 2pm Thursday. Will England buckle again under pressure? England in our opinion just doesn’t offer any value at 4/7 – not even convinced it will land! What would you feel more confident in backing an England win or Wales on the win and draw at 7/5
