The Watershed Riding for the Disabled Group is thrilled to be receiving new support from highly-regarded Cotswold Estate Agents, Jackson-Stops & Staff.

This newly developed partnership will commence with the RDA joining Jackson-Stops & Staff at the local VWH Point-to-Point in Siddington, Cirencester on Saturday 19th March. Jackson-Stops & Staff will be hosting a marquee in which they will be offering refreshments, selling cards and holding a raffle to raise funds for a new ‘mess-room’ for the charity’s stable yard which resides in Coates, Cirencester. Watershed will also be bringing along a pony to the Point-to-Point to greet everyone just outside the Jackson-Stops marquee.

David Parris, Director of Jackson-Stops in the Cotswolds, commented: “Horse riding can provide wonderful therapy and enjoyment for both children and adults suffering from a number of different physical or learning disabilities. Without charities such as the Watershed RDA this therapy would not be possible. You may or may not be aware that the RDA raise all their own monies and rely solely on fundraising and charitable donations to be able to operate. Therefore, it’s important for us at Jackson-Stops to help support them so they can continue their invaluable work.”

“We hope to see many of you at the Point-to-Point where you can show your support by purchasing a raffle ticket to win one of the fantastic prizes we have up for grabs.”

Raffle prizes include a much sought after polo lesson for two at Longdole Polo Club, a generous £50 voucher to spend at leading equestrian retailers, Equiboodle, a magnum of champagne from thriving wine merchants Haynes Hanson & Clark, afternoon tea for two courtesy of the Kings Head in Cirencester, an exquisite hand stitched quilt and leather bound journal kindly donated by interior design company Cregg & Co, a £70 meal voucher perfect for a 3 course meal and a bottle of wine for two at the wonderful new Côte Brasserie in Cirencester, the chance for two people to enjoy a famous burger and milkshake combo at the Jolly Nice farm shop and cafe in Frampton Mansell and an fantastic fruit hamper from The Market Garden in Cirencester.

Tickets will cost £2 each and all proceeds will go towards the Watershed RDA’s current project of building a ‘mess-room’- A warm, dry and fully plumbed area for riders, their families and carers and the volunteers to congregate in both before and after each riding sessions.

“As well as the riding, the before and after time is so valuable to our riders and the team,” said Watershed’s Fundraising Manager Kate Beim. “We are very pleased and excited to be working with Jackson-Stops this year. Our Charity is most grateful for their support and we are looking forward to this partnership.”

The Group is run solely by over 50 volunteers – who all give tremendous amounts of their time free – so any funds raised go directly to the Group for the benefit of the riders and ponies. There are no administration costs.

The Watershed RDA is always pleased to welcome new riders and it goes without saying that they always need volunteers. For more information you can visit watershedrda.org.uk
