Sydney weekend escapes have become incredibly popular as more people than ever before are choosing to explore this dynamic city. Sydney is an attractive city with a huge array of different activities for everyone to enjoy. Packed full of charm, you will never tire of visiting, and exploring what Sydney has to offer.

The harbour remains one of the top places to visit whilst in the city, and walking around this area is inspiring. The glorious sails of the Lady Opera House are magnificent, and no trip to Sydney is complete without visiting this area. Further to the left is the impressive arch of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, surrounded by the old stone storehouses and docks.

Harbour cruises are the best way to see this area, however, they can be expensive, but you do not need to pay a large amount to travel the waters. The Manly ferry travels the same route and is a fraction of the cost, making it one of the best money saving ideas for your Sydney weekend escapes. Moving away from the harbour, there is plenty to explore, including the beaches.

Bondi remains one of the most famous beaches in the world, and no trip to Sydney is complete without a visit to this area. However, there are several prettier beaches further away from the city to enjoy. Coogee Beach provides rugged landscapes, and idyllic cliffs to explore, ensuring that you enjoy the excellent climate during the walk.

There are numerous markets throughout Sydney, and some are well worth the early morning wake up to explore. Bondi markets are open on Sundays; however, the upmarket Paddington Market on a Saturday may be more of your taste. Situated near the boutique shops and stores you can enjoy several hours of window shopping if your budget does not stretch to these prices.

Seafood is a massive aspect of life in Sydney, and the fish markets are an incredible place to spend some time, watching the fishing boats arriving with their catch. You may think this is a strange place to visit, but all of the locals gather in the nearby restaurants, and enjoy the fresh fish that is cooked and served.

Taronga Zoo is a popular tourist attraction; however, the locals also enjoy spending the day amongst the feathered, finned and furry animals. Situated in the harbour this zoo has breathtaking views, and fascinating animals. You should catch the cable car from Circular Quay, to the summit of the zoo, and then take a leisurely stroll back down.

Exploring the city on foot may seem daunting, however, at weekends it is the quietest time to enjoy what is on offer. There are numerous places to enjoy a cold beer or some food, but the Orbit Bar in Australia Square is unique. The revolving bar allows you to receive the best sights of the city in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
