Alexandria, Va. (Vocus/PRWEB) April 11, 2011

Bitrix, Inc. (http://www.bitrixsoft.com), a technology trendsetter in business communications solutions, announces the release of Bitrix Site Manager 10.0, a version that includes 10 new weapons in the web and mobile-development arsenal, significant changes in the licensing policies of the product and a brand new module for senior editions.

Ten new technologies and tools are incorporated into Version 10.0 including:

1.    BitrixMobile: for development of mobile sites and apps with support of iOS, Android and BlackBerry OS on the basis of HTML5.

2.    A ready-made mobile internet shop, created with BitrixMobile technology and an application for one-time passwords (OTP).

3.    Web clusters, a complex solution for scalability and reliability of an entire web project (database, search module, etc.), can be applied in high availability (HA) or high performance (HP) configurations.

4.    Integration with social networks including Facebook, Twitter and Google.

5.    Sticky web-it notes for simplifying collaborative work in web project creation and content management.

6.    Instant search with query suggestion.

7.    Support of SKU in the e-commerce module.

8.    Rating and influence systems in the social networking module.

9.    A ready-made InfoPortal for municipalities and media outlets.

10.    A “Live session” feature, providing a more convenient experience to the daily user.

With the introduction of BitrixMobile, Bitrix Site Manager has become a platform for development of HTML5 applications for mobile devices and tablets. Using BitrixMobile, sites and applications for mobile devices which support popular mobile operating systems like iOS, Android, and BlackBerry OS can be created with the option to work with the site while offline.

One such application for generating one-time passwords, Bitrix OTP, is already published in the Android Market and is awaiting approval in the Apple App Store.

The new product version includes a ready mobile e-store that works for iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry. Users can choose items in the catalog and place orders from their mobile devices. The mobile e-store is developed on BitrixMobile technology and allows the finishing touches to be made easily by the site owner or developer.

A single hour of downtime of an online store may cost the owner tens of thousands of dollars. The issues of continuity, robustness and scalability in such projects are critically important. In Version 10.0, the Web cluster module allows the complex solving of scalability issues and backup of the whole web project, not just the database, using free software (Apache, PHP, MySQL) with simple and understandable system configurations. No high-level specialization is required to perform administration of this system. The work of the module is supported at the level of the Bitrix platform itself. Developers who use the platform to create sites will not need to change the code of existing or new projects in order to benefit from the scalability afforded by the Web cluster module.

Bitrix Web Cluster can be deployed on any hosting platform ranging from cloud hosting virtual machines to dedicated servers. For example, Amazon Web Services virtual machines with load balancer can be quite easily created and configured.

Version 10.0 also has social network support for Facebook and Twitter and internal authorization services for Livejournal, Google, Liveinternet, Blogger, and others. Site owners can supply their users with the necessary authorization for pre-existing accounts on a given social network. This feature simplifies, for example, the process of buying in an online store: you don’t have to register on the site for the order to be put through – the order will be processed using the data of the social account

Another novel feature in 10.0 is Web-it Notes, a very handy thing for daily collaboration work: agreement of final details, approval by the client, or anything else that requires commentary on a specified page. Using a web-it is very much like using a sticky note – you simply ‘stick’ it to the page and indicate what needs to be changed.

The new version also has instant search with content links. When a search query is typed, various types of content appear immediately below the search box: page titles, product names, news, forum topics, blog topics and other elements which match the part of the query that has been fully or partially entered. These content links speed up searching immensely. For example, in an online store when a product is typed in, the system will offer the relevant products and the user can proceed straight to the product’s individual page.

The product now supports work with SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) programs. One product now can be listed with various prices determined by its properties or characteristics, such as size, color, or other options.

A new system for creating individual ratings (influence factor, karma, popularity) is designed for building online communities. This technology is based on a unique method of two-factor ratings.

A ready-made InfoPortal solution comes with the higher versions of the product. This solution presents a site with social networking and a framework for an online community that is particularly appropriate for mass media companies, municipalities or local governments. Specific features include new feeds, headline news, a bulletin board, blogs, forums, photo galleries, polls, banners and other tools for a full-featured information portal.

To ease working with Bitrix on a daily basis, a new feature, live session, has been introduced which automatically continues a session when the user’s browser is active. Live session lets the user be sure that his or her authorization will not run out and that all work will be saved.

Significant upgrades have been made in the photo galleries and blogs. Blogs now have a visual message editor with BBCode support.

The social networking module has been added to the Professional edition of Bitrix Site Manager. The price of this edition will now be $ 1,499. This edition will include the InfoPortal site solution, which is an excellent platform for municipalities, local governments, and media outlets.

The Enterprise version now comes with the Business process designer module, a very powerful tool which allows highly customized workflows to be created in a visual environment. Such workflows can be used in order processing, publishing, or other processes which connect resources and users of the site.

Current users of the Premium and Ultimate editions of BSM will now be able to utilize Web cluster capabilities provided by the Bitrix newest module, which is included now in these editions with no change in price. Installing this new module will not threaten existing data.

BSM users with current subscriptions to updates and technical support can implement the appropriate changes in their products using the SiteUpdate feature in the Control Panel.
