Moose Jaw’s Court of Queen’s Bench roof has collapsed.
At 11:04 a.m. Moose Jaw Police and Moose Jaw Fire responded to a call there regarding an alarm.
But, on further investigation it was determined the roof of the building had collapsed inside and caused substantial damage.
Discover Moose Jaw is reporting the collapse caused water pipes to burst, flooding the building and triggering the alarm.
No one was inside at the time, and there are no reports of injuries.
Moose Jaw Police say damage is in excess of one million dollars.
They’re not sure what caused the collapse at this time. Structural engineers are scheduled to attend the scene Monday morning to do an assessment.
We do know the building was commissioned by the Saskatchewan Government in 1905, and completed in 1909. It’s a historic site in Moose Jaw.
