Jakarta, GIVnews.com – Indonesian President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with 20 presidents and prime ministers of foreign countries on the sidelines of the Asia-Africa’s 60th Commemorative Summit which will be held in Jakarta and Bandung, West Java, on 19-25 April 2015.

The foreign dignitaries will be presidents and prime ministers of China, Japan, South Africa, Thailand, Singapore, Jordan and Brunei Darussalam.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi told reporters on Saturday (18/4) that there will also be bilateral meetings between Vice President Jusuf Kalla and vice presidents and prime ministers of foreign countries on the sidelines of the same summit. Minister Retno will also hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts during the conference’s sidelines.

The government is finalizing the schedules of those bilateral meetings, Retno said at the Jakarta Convention Center where the Asia-Africa Summit will take place between 19 and 23 April 2015. Next Friday (24/4), the summit participants will leave Jakarta for Bandung to attend the peak event of the Asia-Africa’s 60th commemorative conference.

According to the Foreign Minister, all the bilateral meetings will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center. At least 27 foreign heads of states and heads of governments from Asia and Africa will attend the summit, according to Ferdy Piay, the director for Asia-Pacific and Africa Cooperation as reported by Tempo.co last Friday (17/4).

Also attending the conference will be nine vice presidents and three deputy prime ministers from Asian and African countries, Ferdy said.

The Indonesian government has invited leaders of 109 Asian and African countries, in addition to observers from 17 countries. Representatives of world organizations will also attend the conference.
