There’s a definite travel theme with the latest batch of Google Glass apps added to the official Glassware directory.

Google announced the new apps late Wednesday, focusing their announcement on the three apps that are made for people using Glass on the go. They are:

Foursquare

OpenTable

TripIt

My Glass is charging at the moment, so I’m not able to install the apps quite yet and start using them, but here’s a snapshot from each app’s description:

Foursquare: “On Google Glass you can search for the best places nearby and check in once you get there.” What’s interesting is that Foursquare is in the process now of separating into two apps — check-ins and the friend/community features will be on a new app called Swarm that’s expected to be released Thursday. So I’m curious to see what the Foursquare Glass app does.

OpenTable: “OpenTable is the only Glassware that helps you make free reservations at thousands of restaurants. How it works: Simply say “Make a reservation” followed by the restaurant name, or say “nearby” if you want to see what’s available. Make your selection and tap “Book it” to confirm the reservation. Please note: cancellations or modifications must be performed on OpenTable.com or via the Android app.”

TripIt: “Access all your travel plans in one place. Plus, with TripIt Pro, get real-time flight alerts for delays, cancellations, and gate changes; and find alternate flights with open seats in one tap.”

There’s also a fourth new app in the Glassware directory, but it’s nothing to do with travel. OVGuide is a customizable video app that sends movie trailers, celebrity interviews, TV clips and more to your Glass timeline.

Isn’t it great to see a batch of new apps in the directory, especially several with recognizable consumer recognition? I think so.

That brings the Glassware directory to a total of 48 apps.
