Brand Nokia has resurrected from the dead, and in the process, they have brought life and a lot of buzz to the bare basics segment of mobile phones. We’re talking about the legendary Nokia 3310, which has made a colorful comeback along with its ‘Snake’ and marathon battery life. They launched 3 other Android powered smartphones too and all their devices should be available in India by Q2, 2017. Nokia is promising a clutter free Android experience along with regular updates. Here’s what you can look forward to.

Nokia 3310



The new 3310 phone gets a design overhaul but its new form sticks true to its roots and measures 115.6 x 51 x 12.8 mm in size. The new 3310 comes preloaded with the legendary Snake game but this time it is in color. Nokia has launched the 3310 for a price of EURO 49 that roughly translates to INR 3,500. The 2017 Nokia 3310 comes with a 2.4 inch colour display with polarized layer for better readability in sunlight. The OS and UI is kept close to the original version as it features Nokia Series 30. The phone is available in colour like, Warm Red (Glossy), Dark Blue (Matte), Yellow (Glossy), Grey (Matte). It comes with physical push buttons and the placement of the keypad is alike the original.



Other features include a 2 MP camera with LED flash for simple snaps and a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio. headphone jack for your tunes. The new 3310 will be available in both single SIM and dual SIM variants. However, it only supports 2G connectivity for calling and texting. A 1200 mAh battery can make the phone last for up to 22 hours for talk time, and for an entire month if it’s on standby! It comes with 16 MB on board storage, which can be further expanded till 32GB with a MicroSD card slot. There’s support for apps, Bluetooth 2.0,FM radio and an MP3 player.

Nokia 3



The Nokia 3 is for those who’re after a premium looking, easy on the wallet Android smartphone. Priced at EUR 139 (approx Rs. 10,000), it has a polycarbonate body with metallic frame on the sides. The display is a 5-inch HD screen protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass. The Nokia 3 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. Powering the device is a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek 6737 chipset, backed by 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable till 128GB via a microSD card). Audio output is via a 3.5 mm jack and a single speaker on board.The Nokia 3 will be available in dual, as well as single sim options.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE Micro USB (USB 2.0), USB OTG, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Powering the Nokia 3 is a 2650mAh battery. Optics include an 8-megapixel lens at the back with AF, 1.12um, f/2, and LED flash. The front is an 8MP lens too and comes with AF, 1.12um, f/2, FOV 84 degrees and display flash.  The phone will be available in Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue, and Copper White. Sensors on the Nokia 3 include an Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor and NFC for sharing

Nokia 5

Featuring a seamless aluminium unibody, the Nokia 5 has been priced at EUR 189 (Approx Rs. 13,500). The smooth, minimalist body is made from a single piece of precision-milled aluminium in order to give the phone added durability. The device features a 5.2-inch HD screen that gets Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is polarized for better readability in sunlight.

Running Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, the Nokia 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 430 SoC, which is backed by 2GB RAM and 16GB of on board storage (expandable till 128 GB).Optics include a 13MP rear lens with PDAF, 1.12um, f/2 and dual tone flash for better low-light photography. The front snapper is an 8MP wide-angle lens which gets auto focus, 1.12um, f/2, and 84 degrees FOV. The phone gets a 3.5 mm jack, a single speaker for native output and a smart amplifier (TFA9891). Powering the device is a 3000 mAh battery.

Connectivity options include LTE Cat. 4, GSM for 850/900/1800/1900; WCDMA for Band 1, 2, 5, 8; and LTE for Band 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, Micro USB (USB 2.0), USB OTG, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1. Sensors on the Nokkia 5 include Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, fingerprint sensor, Hall sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, NFC. The phone will be available in shades of Tempered Blue, Silver, Matte Black and Copper.

Nokia 6

The Nokia 6 remains the flagship device for now and measures 154 x 75.8 x 7.85 mm (8.4 with camera bump). It has been priced at 299 euros (approx. Rs. 21,000) for the Arte Black variant and 229 euros (approx. Rs. 16,000) for the vanilla model. Running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC which is backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable till 128 GB). The display is a 403 ppi, 5.5” IPS LCD with a Resolution of (1920 x 1080, 16:9), gets 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is polarized for better sunlight readability.

Optics on the Nokia 6 include a 16MP rear lens with PDAF, 1.0um, f/2, and dual tone flash. The Front-facing 8MP camera getAF, 1.12um, f/2, and an 84 degrees FOV. Audio on the phone is supported by a 3.5 mm jack, dual speakers for native audio and a Smart amplifier (TFA9891) with Dolby Atmos bumping things up. Connectivity options on the Nokia 6 include Micro USB (USB 2.0), USB OTG, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Sensors on the device include Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, Hall sensor, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor and NFC. The Nokia 6 will be available in shades of Arte Black, Matte Black, Tempered Blue, Silver, and Copper.

There’s an Arte Black variant which comes with with 64 GB of mass storage, 4 GB of RAM and gets a glossy black body. All other features are shared with the vanilla Nokia 6.
