The Brain Aneurysm Foundation was established in 1994 in Boston, Massachusetts out of desperate need for brain aneurysm education and support for those who suffer ruptures. Over the past two decades the foundation has grown to be the global leader in brain aneurysm education, awareness, advocacy, support and research grant funding. Additionally, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the only foundation of its kind actively lobbying on Capitol Hill for federal funding for research and to establish September as National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month. This year, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation awarded the largest amount of research grant funding in history. The mere $265,000 was awarded to 12 research scientists and doctors, who are currently seeking indicators, treatments, and preventative measures to help reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures – and ultimately save lives.
