My skin type : Dry with light pigmentation spots on my cheeks, large pores on my nose and droopy eyelids.
Skin Concern:
My skin feels tight if I don’t moisturise or use a foaming cleanser. I feel that my skin “sags” a little whenever I smile. There are pigmentation spots on my cheeks, and I am worried about getting crow’s feet. Droopy eyelids and open pores on my nose are cause for concern. I really wish to achieve smooth, perfect and firmer skin.
Solution: Fractional Laser
Dr Melvin Tan would examine your skin condition, skin type, and determine what sort of treatment will suit your skin. He will also need to learn about your lifestyle. Dr Tan used the Fractional Laser to treat my enlarged pores, as well as dull and aging skin. He adjusted the laser settings, customising it to my needs for the best results. So, it is not just about the equipment, but the skill and experience of the specialist that matters. The Fractional Laser does the following:

Depending on your skin condition, Dr Melvin Tan is able to advise you on how many treatments you would need and also customise a program to suit your needs and budget.
Dr Tan used the latest Fractional Laser with the smallest dot size for Corrective Treatments – focusing on pores and scars. The ‘dot-mesh’ pattern of this laser treatment removes microscopic columns of skin and leaves tiny sections of the skin in between untouched, promoting collagen production and rapid recovery.
No concern for a lengthy recovery time as the amount of skin actually treated by each laser pass is only a fraction of the area covered by the ablative lasers.
A topical anesthetic cream is applied 10 minutes before treatment. The laser treatment head is then passed over the surface of the treatment area in a series of overlapping passes. A slight sting is expected whereupon a cooling device will be placed on the skin to reduce discomfort during and after treatment. Redness on your skin may last around 2 to 3 hours.
Each Fractional Laser treatment will last around 30 to 45 minutes depending on the area to be treated. A second treatment should be done after 6 weeks. To achieve desired results, patients require 3 or more treatments as directed by the doctor.
Fractional Laser is also used to treat sun-damaged and aging skin by working at both the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. The treatment will improve skin texture and smoothen your skin.

LED Yellow Light Therapy
Dr Melvin Tan also recommended an additional Healing and Skin Rejuvenation procedure known as the LED Yellow Light Therapy, which I had undergone immediately after the Fractional Laser treatment.
LED Yellow Light Therapy combines yellow and infrared light diodes to speed up healing, and rejuvenate dull complexion for a radiant glow! It penetrates deep into the skin and energizes cells to stimulate collagen and elastin. This treatment is an excellent way to promote healing and rejuvenate the skin in a fast and effective way that is completely painless and non-invasive.
LED Yellow Light Therapy, in a nutshell helps to reduce the appearance of redness, inflammation and swelling. I read over the internet that this colour of light is even great for rosacea and treating burns such as sunburns.

My Experience after 7 days:
My skin feels baby soft and smooth after the dead cells flake off. My enlarged pores and dull skin are vastly minimised. The result is natural and I look younger, with smooth and even-toned skin. My overall skin looks brighter too. My skin is still improving as the days go by. I can also see improvement of the fine lines around my neck. I noticed the skin feels tighter and firmer.
I really love the Fractional Laser treatment at EPW. As for my freckles and droopy eyelids, they will be addressed three weeks later.
