A leading project management expert in Africa, Dr Donald Senanu Agumenu, has declared his intention to contest the Akatsi North Constituency parliamentary seat on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The multiple award-winning Rotarian said rural enterprise development will be top on his agenda if he is elected to become the MP.

Dr Agumenu in a brief remark to declare his intention said he is poised to contribute his skills to enterprise growth and sustainability, service to humanity and human capital development across the private and public sector respectively.

'I am bringing my expertise on board to support President John Mahama's administration, the people of Akatsi North Constituency and the nation at large,' he underscored.

Many of the people in the Akatsi North Constituency have applauded Dr Agumenu's quest to represent the constituency in Parliament.

According to them, Ghana needs corporate executives and experts like him to contribute to nation building and form part of the economic, industrial and legislative development.

Dr Agumenu, Executive Secretary of the African Project and Programme Management Association (APPMA), is a certified professional trainer, leadership and management consultant, programme planner and president of Direct Leadership Institute.

He is also the chief executive officer (CEO) in-charge of Africa for the International Association for People and Performance Development (IAPPD) which is in 48 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr Agumenu is the lead consultant and facilitator for uniBank Ghana Banking School in Leadership and Management, which runs Master Class and Executive Management Development (Series) programme for managers and supervisors.

He holds a PhD in Leadership and Management, Master of Business Administration-MBA, Master Project Manager, Certified International Project Management Certification and the prestigious Certified Manager Certification (CM).

Among other things, Dr Agumenu is a marketing and sales expert, a trainer of trainers in Quality Export Marketing Management and a fellow to the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management, UK.

He is an honorary global advisor and chartered fellow to the American Academy of Project Management and the International Project Management Commission.

Dr Agumenu is also an ambassador for peace with the Universal Peace Federation, an NGO with a special consultative status with the United Nations.
