Millions of gamers have snatched up copies of Grand Theft Auto V since its release last month — enough to break seven world records, in fact — but many vocal PC gaming purists are holding out for a PC version of the wildly popular new title.

Rockstar took several months to put out a PC version of GTA IV, and despite continuously reaffirming that there are no current plans to bring GTA V to the PC, multiple sources have informed Eurogamer that the $1 billion game will make its way to the computer “in the first quarter of 2014.”

This report comes despite the fact that Rockstar stated on its website in July it “[doesn't] have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and [is] completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now.”

Eurogamer also points out that a Change.org petition for a PC release of GTA V has gathered nearly 600,000 signatures over the past several months.
