Business Development Manager

Location; Midlands region

Salary; up to £25,000

Our client is seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager.

The Company:

One of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of office furniture in the UK. The products are designed, marketed and supplied throughout the UK to our contract customers, within the public sector, central government and higher education sectors.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the National Sales Manager and Directors, the Business Development Manager’s position would be based ‘on-the-road’. You will be responsible for selling and promoting the company’s products and services to new and existing secured contract accounts.

Tasks not limited to;

* Arranging your own sales visits aimed at both smaller ad-hoc customers and larger project customers.

*    Develop, build and increase the number of customers per account, and maximise the level of spend for each customer.

*    Selling to all levels of business to business customer; including from end-users to Chief Executives.

* Planning your work load in the most cost-effective manner, and maximise the number of customers who are visited whilst reducing costs.

*   Increase the level of spend and profitability for the area in-line with monthly and quarterly  sales targets.

*   Maintain customer contact records in accordance with company standards and confidentiality clauses.

*    Submit detailed weekly reports to the Sales Manager.

The successful candidate will:

 * Have experience of the public sector sales process and public sector organisations.

* Have experience of selling furniture and an understanding of products ranges such as office furniture, seating, storage and associated accessories.

The successful candidate will:

* Be motivated, sales focused and results driven

* Be well organised with a good understanding of face-to-face sales techniques

*Have good communication skills

*Demonstrate systematic sales approach for planned visits to all customers, prospective customers and opportunities

* Demonstrate effective territory planning and account categorisation skills

* Good negotiation techniques

* Display effective time management skills and ability to work remotely

* Demonstrate both business development and growth through account management.

Remuneration Package:

*                     £20,000 - £25,000 per annum

*                     Uncapped commission
