Is it normal to have only 1 sale?
Ok I published my website 4 days ago and I only have 573 visitors and no orders, actually i have 1 order pending and im international. I just set up my analytics and havnt started adding keywords until tonight and still have a long way to go on the keywords for my optimization. Was that a good number of clicks for having no keywords set up dispite not having any sells. Is that normal or am i behind abit. i started with 15 on day 1, then it went up until i had 93 clicks in one day and today was only 17 clicks,…….a total of 1012 page views. Any advise on what i should do to get the ball rolling, anything would help….thnx……………………..
ok now its day 6 and i have 4012 page views and no sales……i just set up my ecommerce 5 hours ago to capture sales…..is something wrong or is this normal… Its a shoe site….

That’s remarkably good traffic for a brand new site, which raises the question is this all organic traffic, or did you pay for some if it? Paid bulk traffic is renowned for having lousy conversions, if you get more qualified visitors from “buyer” keyword searches or advertisements you might get more decent conversion rates, typically one starts conversion estimates at 1% but it can vary depending on the subject. All sales sites need to optimize the the design using A-B split testing, changes like the color and position of a button have been known to double sales, you can’t always predict the design that will convert best.

It’s not as simple as buying traffic. You need targeted traffic. Now, you can buy targeted traffic, but will require some experience for this to work. adcenter.microsoft offers PPC traffic which you can get but you will have to pay for each click. That cost can be anything from 30 cents to $ 1.50 per click. If your website is ready to convert visitors to sales then you can try opening an account there, or at 7search, MIVA, or google adwords.
You can also buy banner space at websites such as buysellads.com which will help you to target people on other sites that relate to your shoe site. I find though, that while you are learning about all of this, you can still have someone do basic SEO for you so that your site will get indexed in Google and picked up by the other search engines like yahoo.com.
You need to be educated about traffic, so I suggest you put in a solid 5 hours just reading about how to generate traffic at the warriorforum so you can just learn this stuff, then implement
