I have 2 rescue Dogs, Chico a French bulldog Mix. My husband thinks he is mixed with German Shepherd Dog. I think he is mixed with Pitt. He has a beautiful gentle strong quiet disposition. He is outstanding with kids and like to play with other dogs. We got him from North more Homeless Pet Event in Jacksonville, FL. He is 2 years old we think.

We got a year later another No more Homeless Pets Dog Named Bella we think she is a beagle/Datsun mix. She is a clingy neurotic bitch, my huband says she is just like me ? . We love her crazy clingy self. She follows me everywhere and is mostly attached to me and my 8 year old Daughter. She is good dog with kids and leary of other dogs. She will bite if backed in a corner and feels like your going to hurt her. She doesn't like change and needs reassurance in new environments. We moved from Jacksonville FL to Zachary LA 3 months the ago and it was an adjustment for her especially when we staid in extended stay for 45 days. She got through it and is back to her calmer more secure crazy self.

I bumped into a lady with puppies she bred hunting dogs purebred beagles. No papers just bred with neighbor beagle for hunting dogs. She offered me a male puppy. I took him because they were outside and he looked like he needed a better situation. I bought him crate and took care of him for a few days until I found him a great owner. A college girl and her mom which have given him a great home.

When he left I missed him even with the late nights and all the care required. So I saw it asa sign. I always wanted a GSD since I was little. My parents had one named Wendy when I was really young and my Dad Loved that Dog dearly.

I went on Craigslist which in hindsight I will never do again. I got a puppy from a byb in Kenner LA. We drove the hour and 15 minutes to get the puppy on Monday May 2, 2016. He told me they were 6 weeks old and on solid food. My kids were with me , the mom was on a concrete slab on back porch. The mom was tethered and the pups were running around. I say they were soiling on the concrete. I did not see the dad my husband thinks he was in a dog house on side of house also tethered. The puppies were getting caught in mothers tether , one actually had a dried scar on hind keg, guy said that the mom must have bites him, or he was rubed by tether too much. The pups were energetic and running around. I really did not connect with one. My husband said what about him, and pointed to a puppy sleeping alone in a corner next to dog house. He picked him up and he was super cute and had the color markings I liked.

I brought him home and have had no medical issues for first week, took him to vet yesterday for first time he tested positive for coccidiosis. He got prescribed Primor, Puran tell and a vaccine for distemper Parco DAPP. He has been vomiting and has no appetite. I called vet they said it's normal and to give him quarter of benedryl tablet 2 times a day.

He seems small I think he may be younger and was really 4 weeks not 6 weeks when we got him. I texted byb and asked liter birth date. He said he was not sure. This did not suprise me. I thought that I did not have to go with registered dog if I just wanted a pet. In researching this site is now learned how wrong I was. I feel like I enabled this guy by giving him 250 for a dog he did not care for properly.

If I did it all again I would have paid more and gone to a reputable breeder to ensure to support good breeders that actually care about thier dogs and puppies.

Nevertheless lesson learned. I love Shamar he weighed in yesterday at 4.6 pounds at supposedly almost 7 weeks. I will post pictures of puppy and of parents that byb posted on his ad. The mother is the same one I saw at his house, I never really saw father in person.

Breeder did have small kids and they were all outside loving on pups and mother so they were all used to kids. Mother was sweet she did not mind me picking up her pup and was very sweet to his kids and mine that were all out there on porch.

I practically have him potty trained, I am crate training him. He only has accident when walking from house to front door. I'm guilty of carrying him outside first week , I'm transitioning now to getting him to walk to front door.

He is very confident he walks and takes Kong bed , my other dogs seem to let him do it , becausethey know we are watching and it's not worth maybe getting in trouble. HE also walks confidently to thier food and I have to get him and redirect. My Neurotic Bella nipped at him and I removed the puppy. Chico is more chill he just kinda looked at me and walked away annoyed.

Vet said everyone is trying to assert themselves in a hierarchy. Chico was very sensitive for the first time since we had him and actually growled when I went to take his bone. He never has done anything like that before. I kinda got emotional like my feelings got hurt. I quickly asserted myself and although a lil scared, I ain't gonna lie took his bone and we have been working on being sure he understands that all humans own the toys first and we let him use it.

We stood by and had kids take bone as well after he earned it by sitting and had it for a bit, he now seems to be fine. The puppy Shamar is using his mother to chew and bite on our toes, pant bottoms, shoes. We are working with him by squeezing loudly like he hurt us. My husband uses No, he refuses to squeek..lol.

He stops and we redirect him to toys . But it's constant: him doing it, us redirecting him. So that's where we are at.... Dogs are always supervised with puppy. Everyone gets crated when I leave house. I went and got puppy his own Kong so now everyone has a spot when we are all chilling in Family room watching TV.
