If you took a poll of the largest online E30 owners community, R3VLimited, most would say the 1989 325is is the perfect car – largely due to the small bumpers, ellipsoid headlights and non-airbag steering wheel. The 1988 gets a bit lost in the mix, since it combines some of those features but retains the less-desirable (according to some pundits) metal bumpers, AKA “diving boards.” However, since most ’88′s also retained the pop-out rear windows the earlier cars are loved for, this clean 325is moves up a notch in my book. While I don’t think any of the later cars can match the awesomeness of the earlier IS’s front air dam, this clean example from D.C. has a lot going for it, including its preserved condition and amazingly clean natur interior that usually has succumbed to years of use and grime by now. In addition, I spy some very cool Euro goodies in the trunk – the optional trunk storage tray, first aid kit and warning triangle are all signs that an enthusiast has been looking after this collector-grade E30.

While the mileage may scare off some, the 168,000 recorded miles is nothing worse than average for this year and fairly insignificant on a well-maintained M20 motor. I wonder if the boys from Enthusiast Automotive Group will come calling – this looks like their kind of car.
