Since I'm traveling this week (again), I'm relying pretty heavily on my "pocket writing" tools, especially pocket pens and mechanical pencils. Have at it, and look for some pics from my NYC stationery adventures later this weekend.

Faber-Castell Ondoro Fountain Pen (via Massdrop). Faber-Castell pens feature excellent steel nibs. Grab this one now.

Bung-Box Ink Two-Pack (via Massdrop). Good opportunity to grab two bottles of special edition Sailor inks at a lower cost (though it's still not exactly cheap).

Diamine Boxed Ink Gift Set. Either the "Music" or "Flowers" set, for a nice discount off retail.

Machine Era Pen (via Huckberry). A nice looking brass pocket pen that uses the Pilot G2 refill.

Fisher Space Pen Bullet (via Pen Chalet). I have the brass, matte black, and titanium nitride versions. I've been using my space pens a lot recently, especially for pocket notebooks. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the stock refill so I swapped in the fine point universal refill. (It also works in the Baron Fig Squire, btw.)

Lamy Pico (via Amazon). Grab this pocketable ballpoint pen at a great price.

Kuru Toga Roulette (via Amazon). The mechanical pencil that rotates the lead as you write, keeping a sharp point.

Midori Brass Bullet Pencil (via Amazon). If you're a woodcase pencil purist who doesn't want to use a mechanical, bullet pencils are a great place to start.

Kitaboshi Wood Note Mechanical Pencil 3-Pack (via Amazon). Basically the same thing as the Ohto Sharp that I picked up at Kinokuniya this weekend. It's a woodcase pencil body with a mechanical pencil insert, and it's a lot of fun to use.

Caran d'Ache Fixpencil (via Amazon). I have the black version, but I can't take my eyes off the red. One of the best leadholder clutch mechanisms that I've used.

Happy Fountain Pen Day! Check out the website for a list of sponsors, as well as some Fountain Pen Day sales, giveaways, and promotions!

Papernery Closeout: Gary at Papernery is running a closeout sale of his stock, as he moves on to different projects in the stationery world. We wish him the best! Grab what you can while it's left, it won't last long at these prices.

New Kickstarter: I recently received an email notifying me that yet another pen Kickstarter has launched: the Quotidian Pen. If you're into the cylindrical, streamlined design, check it out. The cap appears to be magnetic, and the creators are marketing the pen as "the World's First Magnetic Propulsion Pen."

Baron Fig Subscription Services: Baron Fig has joined the limited edition/subscription service craze, and gone all-in. You can now subscribe to receive quarterly limited editions of the Confidant notebook, the Vanguard pocket notebook (formerly the Apprentice), the Squire rollerball pen, and the Archer pencils. Or, if you're crazy enough, subscribe to all four.
