First of all, a big thank you to everyone in the Genesis community who retweeted, shared and gave feedback on last week’s This Week in Genesis.

It’s always slightly scary sharing something new (even something small) but you made me glad I did (hugs).

In the next couple of weeks I’d like to add some other types of articles to the mix (including interviews with some of the amazing people who make cool stuff for Genesis), but right now this is week 2 of This Week in Genesis.

Themes

Flex Pro is released by Davinder Singh and Chinmoy Kumar Paul over at Simple Pro Themes. Billed as ‘the most flexible Genesis theme’ it features four different homepage layouts (Agency, Magazine, Blog and Personal).

Sans Souci, a ‘crisp and clean’ Genesis child theme designed for creative types to showcase their work, is released by Claro Themes

Showcase

Jon Barrat revealed a gorgeous new bar website for http://www.lindeslane.com.au

Vaughan Simons shared a fantastic new site for author Sophie Jackson (based on the Remobile Pro theme by StudioPress) http://sophiejacksonauthor.com

Brooke Semple does a great job and shows what’s possible with a customisation of StudioPress’ Parallax Pro theme (h/t Brian Gardner) http://www.seesawdesign.ca

Carrie Dils shared a showcase of some of the websites using her popular Utility Pro theme.

Podcasts

OfficeHours.fm dealt with a topic that a lot of WordPress developers struggle with, remembering what it was like to just be a WordPress user. If you’re a developer interested in getting a deeper understanding of your clients (or potential clients) check out episode 57 where Carrie talks to two ‘regular’ WordPress users (both of whom have websites on Genesis of course).

The UK Genesis Podcast had their week off this week but will be back next week with a interview with James Roberts on Wednesday 6 May at 2pm UK time.

Oh and it’s not Genesis, but Rob Neu deserves a shout for his epic 8,000 word blog post, The Best WordPress Plugins Ever Created Since the Dawn of Time. Expect to see it ranking near the top of a Google search for best WordPress plugins shortly…

That nice chap, Calvin Makes, shares how to Add a Mobile-Friendly, Off-Canvas Menu in Genesis. Don’t know what an off canvas menu is? It’s the fancy menu you’ll find in his Community Pro theme. Take a look and see how fancy it is.

And finally…

…big congrats to Genesis community superstar Sridhar Katakam who has revealed his new membership site for Genesis tutorials is now doing so well that he’s no longer looking for support jobs. A well deserved success story.

Stopped looking for support jobs after converting my Genesis & WP tutorials site into a membership. TY, my users. pic.twitter.com/hgbOCoX7zn

And that’s it for this week.
