Indiana, Marriages, 1811-1959 — Searchable Index and Browsable Images — Indexed in partnership with the Indiana Genealogical Society. Name index of marriages recorded in the Indiana Territory and in the state of Indiana between 1811 and 1959. This collection includes searchable index data for marriage records from all Indiana counties except Howard, Johnson, and Montgomery. This is an ongoing project, so additional records will be added as indexing is completed. New images are being added as they become available. Images of some marriage records included in the index cannot be viewed online due to various contract restrictions. United States Internal Revenue Assessment Lists, 1862-1874 — Browsable Images — Images of internal revenue assessment lists (annual, monthly and special) arranged by state and collection district. These records are the result of the Internal Revenue Act of July 1, 1862 authorizing the collection of monthly and annual taxes on goods, services, licenses, income and personal property. The assessments were used to raise money for the Civil War. This collection consists of multiple state NARA microfilm publications from Record Group 58 Records of the Internal Revenue Service. The tax assessments were organized by collection districts, which could cover any number of counties, part of a city or township, or part of a county. The boundaries of some districts changed part way through the civil war. “A guide for all counties” that distinguishes which records cover which localities is included for all States where more than one district is present and the guide was present in the images. Also, for the purposes of this browse, a county label has been included. Patrons researching any counties that became part of West Virginia should search in both Virginia (M793) and West Virginia (M795) for those records, regardless of date. Images for collection districts are found under every county included within the boundaries of the district in question. Hence, the same images are listed under multiple counties. Please note the NARA Roll Number and Description as this will prevent unintended multiple searches of the same images. – There are 403,116 Images as of 30 September 2014.

California, County Birth and Death Records, 1849-1994 — Searchable Index and Browsable Images — Registers, records and certificates of county birth and death records acquired from county courthouses. This collection contains some delayed birth records, as well. Some city and towns records are also included. Records have not been acquired for Contra Costa, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Modoc, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Siskiyou, Solano, Tulare and Ventura counties. New York, State Census, 1865 — Searchable Index and Browsable Images — This collection contains most of the 1865 New York state census records still in existence. Ten schedules were filed for each locality, including population, marriages, and deaths schedules. The population schedule included the name, age, birthplace, and occupation of each household member. Most counties are covered, but some records were destroyed.
