I love Essence and like to keep an eye open on their new releases as they seem to have new products almost every other week. I was kindly sent a few products from Essence as a Valentine’s Day Gift but I also purchased a few myself too from Wilko so I decided to do an Essence Makeup Haul today. I’ve tried so many Essence products since they launched in the UK a few years ago, and as a whole I’ve always been really impressed with the quality of the products especially as everything is so affordable and my holy grail eyebrow product is the Essence Make Me Brow.

Firstly I bought two of the Essence Mosaic Blushes in the shades All You Need is Pink and Miss Floral Coral which are £2.50 each, with another two shades to choose from in addition to these. The blushes contain three different shades, with All You Need is Pink containing pastel pink, a nude shimmery pink and a dark pink shade whereas Miss Floral Coral contains nude pink, shimmery peach and shimmery dark pink sections. Both of the blushes give a subtle flush to the cheeks with a slight sheen due to the shimmer, with Miss Floral Coral being the most pigmented of the two. They are very pretty and wearable, and I actually like how sheer the pigmentation is as it looks natural on the cheeks and I prefer my blush to be on the subtle side.

I also bought the Essence Silky Touch Blush in the shade Indian Summer after reading a review and liking the subtle peachy sheen shade. The Silky Touch Blushes are only £1 each, but they’re my favourite powder blushes that Essence do. I got the Essence Do You Speak Love? The Gel Nail Polish £1.60 which is a deep, intense dark red which I already own so I’ll pass this onto a friend but it’s definitely a gorgeous colour. The Essence The Gel Nail Polishes are amazing for the price.. I wouldn’t say they have a gel-like formula, but they are super pigmented and easy to apply, and definitely worth their £1.60 price.

I got one of the Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks in the shade 21 which is a deep berry shade which is on the sheerer side but very shiny, and leaves a ‘bitten’ like stain on the lips. The Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks are only £2.30 and they come in many different shades and finishes. My favourite Essence lipsticks are their Sheer and Shine formula as they’re more like a lip butter than a lipstick, but the whole lipstick range is impressive for the price. Lastly I got the Essence 2 in 1 Eyeliner £2.50 which contains two different eyeliners; one side is a thin, pointed liner whereas the other is an angled nib similar to that of a Calligraphy pen. Sadly the eyeliner pen is a little disappointing as the thin side is very poorly pigmented, and the thick side is very runny, and almost impossible to use as it’s just much too thick to line the eyes as the runny formula means it leaks into the eyes which really stings. I would recommend skipping this liner completely and going for the Essence Superfine Eyeliner Pen which is £2 and much better quality in comparison.

I’d love to know if you’ve tried anything from Essence lately, and if you have any favourite products at all?
