One of my favourite discoveries during 2016 was definitely the Look Incredible Beauty Boxes, and over the course of last year I featured a selection of their boxes. The Look Incredible Beauty Boxes are slightly different to other mainstream beauty box brands as they have two different boxes available; the Standard Box which is £18.99 each month which contains five full sized beauty products and the Deluxe Box which is £35 which contains five full size products as well but they’re more luxury and high end items with a greater combined value of the items compared to the standard box. This month I have the pleasure of showcasing both boxes on my blog for you, and I’m kicking things off with the Look Incredible January Beauty Box 2017 as well as a giveaway where you can win your very own box so make sure you keep on reading to find out how you can win the Look Incredible January Beauty Box 2017 edit.
The first item which caught my eye when I opened the beautiful, bow wrapped box was the Too Faced Flatbuki Makeup Brush worth £12. Too Faced is one of my top three highend makeup brands so I’m always very excited to try new products from the brand, and I’m yet to try any of their makeup brushes so this is a very welcome addition to the box. The brush has a beautiful pastel pink wooden handle, with golden writing, a matte golden ferrule and pink and white ombréd bristles which are extremely silky and soft. This is a synthetic hair brush which Too Faced affectionately name ‘teddy bear hair’ which is so cute and I’ll definitely enjoy using the brush to set my under eye concealer.
There are two BareMinerals products within the Look Incredible January Beauty Box 2017 and the first is the BareMinerals Daily Recovery Concentrate worth £19.99. This is a deeply hydrating skin treatment which claims to visibly restore skin’s elasticity over time and is powered by ActiveSoil Complex plus White Lily Extract to help replenish and retain moisture, leaving skin instantly supple while increasing it’s resilience over time. I’ve only used a couple of BareMinerals skincare products so far and I’ve liked what I’ve tried so I imagine this will also be a great product especially for my dry skin.
Then we have the Rosie for Autograph Dream Big Lashes Mascara worth £15 which I am very excited about as I love the Rosie for Autograph range in Marks and Spencer and this mascara alone is nearly the price of the box. This rose gold packaged mascara claims to volumise, lengthen and curl the lashes with a lightweight smudge-proof formula for a clump free finish. The bristles look very promising with a plastic bristles brush with lots of tiny bristles to catch the shortest of lashes and it’s in black which is such a makeup bag staple.
The second skincare product in the box is the Bee Good Honey & Camelina Facial Exfoliator worth £10.50 which claims to polish, hydrate and calm congested and dull skin. Bee Good is a great British brand with products which are ‘made by British Bees’. The formula contains milled lavender flowers which work to gently lift and exfoliate dead skin cells without irritation with wheatgerm oil soothing and moisturising dry skin whilst British propolis helps to balance problematic skin and camelina oil protects and nourishes. This exfoliator is suitable for all skin types so it’s a great universal product which everyone can use.
The fifth and final product in the box is the BareMinerals 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow worth £18 in the shade Delicate Moss. I love cream shadows but I’ve never tried the BareMinerals formula before, and the Gentle Moss shade looks like a really pretty golden khaki shade which can be subtle or intense depending on the amount you apply. The formula contains an SPF of 15 and can be used as an eyeshadow primer, brightener and eyeshadow and I really like the super sleek packaging.
Overall it really is a fantastic box especially for only £18.99. If you look at some of the ‘mainstream beauty boxes’ this month, their contents were pretty lacklustre to say the least so this really is the better alternative in my honest opinion as the products are full sized for one, and secondly there is a great mixture of products – makeup, skincare and tools so I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the box at all.
