Residents of Kirkland, Wash., have access to a new public park thanks to Google. A new outdoor recreational space is set to open next week along the Cross Kirkland Corridor next to Google’s Kirkland campus and just in front of the company’s new 180,000 square-foot building. Google paid $3 million to transform an abandoned rail corridor into a new public space for its employees and the public that includes a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, a Crossfit/TRX fitness area, and a zip line.
