Google (Alphabet) is still best place to work in the United States, according to Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list, which was announced today. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Google has been on the top of the list and the 7th time it’s claimed the #1 slot in the last decade.

Fortune makes its list by looking at corporate cultures that have made fairness, employee engagement and talent development top priorities.

While Google is back on top, other big-name tech companies were nowhere to be seen. Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft didn’t claim any of the 100 spots on Fortune’s list.

Some tech companies fared better, though, with 12 making the Fortune rankings. The SAS Institute in North Carolina claimed the #8 spot. Ultimate Software of Florida found its way to #14. Salesforce was #23. Workday was #31. In the #34 slot, Intuit. Then, a whole run of tech companies: in 38th place, WorldWide Technology from St. Louis; in 39th, Riot Games; and in 40th, VMWare.

The private tech company from Ohio, Highland, Creator of OnBase, came in at #48. Autodesk was #54. Cisco Systems was #82. Adobe made the list, too, at #87. GoDaddy, was #95.

Outside of tech, Seattlelites will be pleased to know that some of our own companies made the list — REI came in at #26 and Nordstrom was #92. Legal and professional services company Perkins Coie was #37 and consulting firm Slalom rounded out Fortune’s list, taking the #100 spot.
