I’ve been running a simple machine forum for over a years now and if you are a person like me who have been using this Simple Machine Forum (SMF) of a thing for long period of time, this post might be useless to you and mind you, you might found out some Mods you have not even come across, just spare your time to read this all. I’ve been using tons of Mods on my forum = > 9jageek to beautify my forum and spent some times customizing them to my taste. 1. Cumulus Congestus When i was looking for a way to display popular posts on my forum i couldn’t find a way using a mere coding but this great mod help me in that, This mod allows you to display block of popular topics (or tags) on Board Index (not only) of your forum. 2. Profile Starsigns If you are one who like to beautify your forum user profile, this mods add a zodiac sign bellow user profile avatar. 3. PM to New Members This is also one of the greatest SMF mods that’s help and warmly welcomed new members in the forum, I’ve been using this mods ever since i started my forum and its working pretty fine as i want. This mods allow you to customize the message to be sent to newest members and also sent them a welcome email and forum inbox. 4. Default Avatar I’d love to give the male and female in my forum different avatar ever since my first forum 9jatrickz.net and on getting to SMF its really getting disgusting when seeing my users without avatar for those who haven’t upload one yet, in this case, this Mods solve my problem and i actually set different avatar for both male and female and its really looking cool as I’m using it. 5. Download System Every forum owners would love and want to have this installed because every forum needs a Download System as the name suggested to make the project complete, this is handy and its enabled the users to upload and download files easily. 6. Simple Portal This mods makes the whole thing easier on SMF, absolutely i said it, it should be the first thing you install after installing SMF, this mod make it easier to add block/widget to any where on your forum just like wordpress or blogger, with Simple Portal you can add custom HTML or PHP to the sidebars or any where in tour forum like, articles, forum news, feeds and so on. 7. BxK’s WAP Mod This is strongly recommended for all who wants a good looking mobile forum for SMF, this mods really makes the whole work looks cool, it really changes the disgusting mobile version of SMF to an adorable one, with full customization of its CSS and some other cool features. 8. SMF Gallery Lite This an amazing mod just like the SMF Download System, as the name of this mod suggest, it creates a gallery section in your forum which allow members to upload and download images. its a nice and cool mod, and the image can be categorized in different folders. 9. Registered Links This is also an amazing mod for those who love to keep the privacy of their forum and avoid showing links in forum to the non-registered users, this also prevent external links in your forum post from being followed by search engines. 10. SMF Shop This mod add a unique feature to your forum and it useful when users are looking for what to do next on your forum, this shop provides an option for your users to earn money for posting in the forums and some times when they login, this money they earn can be used to make a trade in the shop section which can be used to purchase Username change, display name change, post count increase/decrease and so many other functions. 11.
