Last week I mentioned some of Dell’s exciting highlights from CES. I overlooked some more in-depth details specific to how the Latitude line-up has broadened its appeal and updated all of the systems in the product portfolio. The changes made impact the Latitude 13 7000 Series 2-in-1, Latitude 7000 Series, Latitude 5000 Series and Latitude 3000 Series.

Here is a summary of some of the updates:

· A thinner and lighter solution than ever before: The new Latitude 7000 Series is available in a 12-inch or 14-inch screen size, offering mobility at its finest, starting at just 19.4mm thin and 2.76lbs

· The most secure Ultrabook on the market: The Latitude 7000 series is designed to enable greater productivity through the integration of industry-leading security solutions including Dell Data Protection and Dell ControlVault providing comprehensive encryption, advanced authentication and malware prevention

· A notebook designed to be mobile: The Latitude 7000 Series is built with premium materials including magnesium alloy chassis, woven carbon fiber display backs and Corning® Gorilla® glass NBT on touchscreens, ensuring outstanding reliability

· A solution fully-equipped for convenience: As with previous generations, the Latitude 7000 Series is the only Ultrabook designed to be compatible with an existing laptop (E-family) docking station. Also, later this spring, WiGig technology will be available enabling seamless connectivity and a desktop free of wires

Combined with all of the other Dimension, XPS and Alienware announcements, it really looks like Dell is well positioned to continue building on the momentum they have gained in the last year!
