The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or the GATE is an all India level examination. This exam is held to examine the candidates competency and the understanding of the UG subjects that the candidate would have studied in their undergraduate engineering and technology based subjects. GATE 2015 would be held in association to the national coordination board (GATE) of the Dept. of Higher Education, MHRD. The examination is held in order for students who gain admission in the postgraduate engineering courses.
GATE 2015 Admit card
In order to appear for the GATE 2015, the candidate would need to have their GATE 2015 admit card. The candidate can get the download link of the GATE 2015 admit card from the zonal GATE websites. Starting dates for the downloading of admit cards is 17th December 2014. The candidates should be aware that the GATE 2015 admit card would not be sent on your mail neither will a physical copy be mailed to you.
Once you download the admit card, you are supposed to take a print of the same and bring it with you when you come to give the examination. You would also be required to bring one original valid photo identity card, photocopies, scans and expired cards will not be considered.
What to bring with GATE 2015 Admit card?
While filling up the application form, all the candidates must provide details of the photo identity card that they would be bringing on the examination date. Please note, that the details of the card that you mention on the application form, would then be the only original copy that would be accepted. If you have entered your driving card details, and if you show up on the exam day with your passport, you would not be allowed to sit for the exam. So, figure out before hand, which identity card would be with you. The candidate can produce any one of the following photo identity cards: Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN card, Aadhar card, college ID, Employee card or a notarized affidavit which contains your photograph, sign, address and date of birth.
Once the admit card for the GATE 2015 is downloaded, the student will have to ensure that they save the original copy for the same as they would not be issued a duplicate copy of the same. The student should also note the user id and the password that they use while logging in to the zonal GATE website the first time, as they would need to enter these ID and password, in order to obtain the download link for admit card of GATE 2015.
GATE 2015 Admit card- Forgot Password?
If in case the candidate forgets the user ID and password, they can click on the forgot password. They will be asked to give a few details, if they are able to answer these questions correctly, they will get a link to update their new password. After this they will be able to access their accounts and download GATE 2015 Hall ticket from there. The GATE 2015 would be conducted on alternate weekends that would be between Feb and March 2015.

Where to download GATE 2015 Admit card?
You will have to open you GATE zonal website to download your admit card. You can download admit card from the websites given below. We have mentioned websites for particular zones and their examination centers in this article only.
GATE 2015 Admit cards are expected to be released on 17th December 2015. Candidates are advised to visit this page again to download GATE admit card after official release.
About GATE 2015
The online application for the GATE 2015 would start from 1st September 2014 on the official website. The closing date of the online application submission would be 1st October 2014. After this the link to the official application would be deactivated on the website. The last date for the printing the receipt for the online application from the zonal GATE office would be 10th October 2014.
Even though the details of the GATE 2015 has not yet been mentioned, looking at the past details, we can expect the dates for the exam. The last date for the change of city request would be 21st November 2014. The online interface for GATE 2015 admit card would open from 17th December 2014.
GATE 2015 is expected to be held on 31st Jan 2015, 1st Feb 2015, 7th Feb 2015, 8th Feb 2015, and 14th Feb 2015. The timing for the examination on each of these dates from morning 9 to noon 12. And another slot would be between afternoon 2 to evening 5. The results would be announced on the online interface on 28th March 2015.
In order to sit for the examination, the male candidates who have applied for the general seats or the OBC seats would have to pay Rs. 1500, for female candidates as well as the scheduled caste and scheduled tribes, the fees is Rs. 750.

Please check the zonal GATE website for details as the information can be changed at whatever time. The information that is mentioned here is based on the current information on the website. If there is any change in any of the dates, or the fees, it would be updated on the official website as well as there. Please keep in mind that all the papers, especially the ones that are multi sessions, are fixed and would not be rescheduled under any circumstances and candidates will have to download their GATE 2015 Hall ticket accordingly. The students will not be allowed to choose which sections they wish to attend, as the sessions would be allocated randomly by the exam authorities.
The examination is conducted by the the Indian Institute of Technologies, namely, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee and IIT Madras. The students who wish to appear for the GATE 2015, should know that they would have to make two primary choices and one secondary choice. When you select the first city of your choice, the website would automatically let you know which zone that city is from. The next city that you choose, should be from that particular zone only. These two choices would by the candidate’s primary choices in that specific zone. But, for GATE 2015, there has been a slight change, the students is also allowed to choose a third city of their choice. This would be the secondary choice.
The examination authorities will look at the first two primary choices of the student and allot the seats accordingly, but if in case the student has selected both the cities which are full, they will be allotted the secondary choice city that they would have marked. Please note, that the exam authorities reserve the rights to add or remove any city as per their convenience and there is a chance that the city that is allocated to the candidate would not be what they have asked for.
