Neyyapam / Kerala Neyyappam is a traditional snack from God’s own country. This mouth watering dish made by using raw rice, ghee, jaggery and spice mixture.
In this recipe,
Soak rice for 4-5 hours. Heat ghee in a pan and fry coconut bites. Grind soaked rice with melted jaggery. Pour melted jaggery to it and grind well.
Transfer grinded mixture to a large pan. Add mashed banana, all purpose flour, dry ginger powder, cumin powder, cardamom powder, sesame seeds, ghee roasted coconut bites, baking soda and 2 pinches of salt. Mix well. Keep it for at least 2 hours.
Heat oil in a pan, pour ladle of batter to hot oil. Fry both sides become golden color. Now our delicious and traditional neyyappam is ready to serve. Serve with hot tea.
