A nine-mile “Down River Race” starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Curwensville Civic Center and ends at Lower Witmer Park in Clearfield. Registration for the “Down River Race” will be from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. at the Curwensville Civic Center. The race entry fee is $20 per person.
Also, a “Youth and Special Needs Sprint Race” starts at 1:30 p.m. at Lower Witmer Park in Clearfield. Registration for the youth sprints and special needs classes will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Lower Witmer Park. The race entry fee is $10 per person.

During the Art Walk on the Block, you will learn how to make your own TV shows with digital media instructor and TV producer Sam Ettaro. You will meet members of the Media Minded Youth Club and hear all about their program and help make a TV show featuring the DuBois Public Library’s new Children’s Section.

There isn’t any admission for the concert; however, a freewill offering will be accepted and appreciated. Everyone is welcome to attend the concert; doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
The idea a tribute concert “Close Enough for Jazz – Book 3″ for Ed Montini started much the way any kind of tribute begins. Musicians throughout the area were deeply saddened by the loss of a friend and wanted some sort of way to pay respect to him.

Queen’s For a Cause Royal 5K Run/Walk & Car/Bike Show

Clearfield County Fair Queen Taylor Goodman will host the third annual Queen’s For a Cause Royal 5K Run/Walk along with a Car & Bike Show at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds on Sunday.
Funds raised throughout the day’s events will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network and local causes. Since the inception of Queens for a Cause (formerly Queens for Kids), more than $125,000 has been donated to the CMN and local charities.
The day will kick off with the Royal 5K Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. Registration for the Royal 5K is from 7:15 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. in front of the Grandstand at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds. Registration fee the day of event is $25.
Awards will be presented to the top three overall male/female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in each age group, male and female. There aren’t any awards for walkers.
This year’s race is themed Disney and will have special appearances from some of the most popular prince/princesses. Those wishing to join in the royal spirit may dress in costume for the race. Tutus, tiaras and pixy wings are welcome. A special prize will be given to the participant with the best royal appearance.
The Car & Bike Show will begin with registration from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Awards will be presented at 4 p.m. The registration fee is $10 per entry. The first 75 registrants for the Car & Bike show will receive a dash plaque.
