Pokémon GO is the hottest topic in video games right now (and one of the hottest topics in the world overall), but the immensely popular mobile app still hasn't launched in Japan. After Pokémon GO made its debut in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, the servers were overloaded by millions of players, and the game's global release had to be delayed. Since then, developer Niantic Labs has launched the game in approximately 30 more countries, but Japan is still waiting.

Speaking with Forbes, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke explained that the server capacity in Japan is not powerful enough at this time. Niantic wants to make sure
Pokémon GO has a smooth launch in Japan, so they're working with partners to make sure that the servers will be able to keep up with demand. As such, Niantic is hoping to launch Pokémon GO in Japan by the end of the month. Forbes has indicated that a July launch may be optimistic, however, and that some experts believe it could take until September.
