After what seems like several quiet weeks, this Thursday sees the Nintendo eShop erupted with content – new games, new DLC, demos and a bunch of other stuff. Discounts too, but they’re yet another dreary assortment. We’re pretty sure Castle Conqueror EX goes on sale at least once a month.

Anyway, if you stayed up late to watch the last Nintendo Direct then you will have caught wind of the upcoming StreetPass games. StreetPass Fishing and StreetPass Zombies are both out this week, at £4.49 each or £7.19 for both. Fishing stumps up the challenge of catching 150 different aquatic critters. Levelling up unlocks access to new rods and aquariums while new bait is gained from Mii characters via StreetPass.

In Zombies, meanwhile, any Miis you’ve met become AI controlled characters ready to help you whittle down a zombie horde. They also bring one of 26 weapons along with them for you to use, including what appears to be a Wii Remote.

StreetPass Mii Plaza Premium launches on Thursday too – £4.49 gets your StreetPass peeps a VIP room, new greetings (including StreetPass birthdays) and expanded music player options.

Also heading to 3DS – Word Search by POWGI (£5.99 – demo available), anime-influenced mech shooter Iron Combat: War in the Air (£6.29), A-Train 3D: City Simulator (£19.99), Heart Beaten (£2.99) – an anti-dating sim, in which you have to stop advances from an unwanted lover – and a demo of Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition.

This oddball assortment is being joined by SEGA’s 3D Fantasy Zone II (£4.49), an enhanced conversion of the Master System classic. It now packs a new endless mode, the ability to save replays and mid-level saving.

Word Search by POWGI is heading to Wii U as well, again for £5.99 with a demo available. That launches alongside 2D pixel art platformer Elliot Quest (£9.49), dice/card game collection TABLETOP GALLERY (£4.09) and a Virtual Console release of the late Wii RPG Pandora’s Tower (£13.29 until 23th April – £17.99 thereafter).

Both 3DS and Wii U are set to receive a hefty dose of Super Smash Bros. DLC. A whole bunch of Mii Fighter outfits including Mega Man X, Proto Man, Majora’s Mask, Link, various animal suits and more. Prices vary between 69p and £1.09. All Wii U add-ons contain codes for their 3DS counterparts.

Lastly, the week’s price cuts – all of which are for 3DS. These include Parking Star 3D (£1.25), the apparently pretty good RPG Fairune (£1.59), Castle Conqueror EX (£2.39), plus Best of Casual Games, Best of Board Games and Best of Arcade Games (£7.99 each). The content from those last three is also being cut to £2.69 a piece – air hockey, solitaire, chess, mah-jong, clones of Tetris and Alleyway, etc. While can’t vouch for quality, that’s still a decent discount – they launched at £8.99 each just a couple of months ago.
