Another Saturday has come and with it a brand new episode of Dragon Ball Super, and in terms of story and action, this may be one of the best episodes from the current story-arc we are experiencing. Tonight’s episode started right where we left last week: Zamasu just appeared before Black finished Goku with a stolen skill: the legendary Kamehameha. Zamasu wanted to take on Goku, it felt like a personal vendetta for what happened in the past, when Goku defeated him the first time they met. There was nothing but action throughout this episode. What this episode is all about is a tag-team match between Zamasu and Black against Goku and Trunks, a battle I wasn’t really expecting to see this soon, but that fulfilled my expectations for sure. However, something really bad came back to Dragon Ball Super, something that has been criticized for a while, ever since that infamous episode 5: awful drawings. They appeared consistently throughout this episode of the show, and the most annoying part is that there were some really amazing sequences that let me know the whole episode could’ve looked amazingly well, but for some reason, didn’t. Related article: Low Quality Animation in Dragon Ball Super Explained. However, as I always say and will always do: animation isn’t the most important part of this. The story is what matters the most. Just like it is in video games. Yes, drawings are super bad on this episode, but that can’t mark the episode as “being bad” because the episode was exciting, full of action, and filled some blanks we had. Something I really enjoyed watching was Goku and Trunks working together in order to attack their enemies while defending each other from their attacks, and here is where I got to see some really good animations, mixed with some really bad -and even funny- ones. Now, we get to understand a little bit more about Zamasu and Black. They are unbeatable, they can take any sort of damage and recover within seconds, and not just that, they become invulnerable to that same damage in the future, something that makes them quite the formidable pair don’t you think? There really is no way to defeat them, and they are aware of this situation, so, Zamasu “takes a bullet” for his team… Fortunately for them, Vegeta still had some energy, and their friends were still around to help them out. Otherwise, there wouldn’t have been another episode of the saga, unless we would reenact one of the few times when Goku has died… Where did Yajirobe take them? You may be asking. Well, He took them to a location where Mai found them as she saved Vegeta, and she did the ultimate sacrifice: she sent Goku, Vegeta and her beloved Trunks back to their time, while she stayed, putting herself in a huge danger as she is staying where Black and Zamasu are, while Zamasu wants to kill every human in order to build a perfect world… But what’s best about this whole episode? The ending. We get to see how the future Zamasu started as we went back in time. He gets to know about the Super Dragon Balls, and that just means, he became immortal through a wish to them. What will next episode bring? It seems like a lot of backstory, but I also want to know what happened with Goku, Trunks and Vegeta, don’t you want to know too? Again, I really enjoyed this episode, so much that I couldn’t stop taking screenshots from it as I felt like everything was important. We got to know how Zamasu and Black deal with their fights, while we saw them fighting as a team against Goku and Trunks, and I have to say, I like that team more than Goku and Vegeta…it is really sad to know that everyone will only talk about how badly drawn this episode was, because as bad as some frames were, there were some really good ones, and the most important part of the episode is the story that it is telling. Let me know what you thought about this episode in the comments below!
