Ni Oh, which has been in development for a long time, has all the makings of a great game. For one, it is being developed by Team Ninja, the studio behind the Ninja Gaiden series. For the sequel, Square Enix opted to team up with Platinum Games, the studio responsible for masterful action games like Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Early footage of the action-JRPG already looks very promising with the intense and stylish combat. If it can live up to its potential, then Nier: Automata should end up being a very special game.

3. Dark Souls 3

After the success of Bloodborne, Hidetaka Miyazaki is returning to Dark Souls as the director for what is advertised to be the last game in the series. So, even though it may be the third similar game to come out in as many years (with Dark Souls 2 releasing in 2014 and then Bloodborne in 2015), From Software’s consistency should be more than enough to keep fans excited for the sequel.
