GadgetyNews - Low Jargon: High Tech

Do you know someone that is unable to afford a new PC rig? Well, Nvidia’s PC Rival Kit could well be an ideal Christmas present for them.

The PC Revival Kit is basically a box of PC upgrade parts.

Nvidia hope to breathe new life in to older machines to the point where they are no longer scared to load games.

If you or a friend have a PC that is limping along, the bits in the kit should be able to bring it up to a decent standard. Not only that, but the refreshed rig should be able to manage most of the newest games at decent-ish settings.

Granted, it’s not going to work miracles. So, sorry if you had high hopes for that dusty old 2006-spec Dell that your office was throwing out.

What’s in the kit

The bundle includes an MSI GeForce GTX 1060 3GT OC Twin Frozr graphics card, a Corsair Force Series LE 240GB solid-state drive (SSD) and a Corsair CX450M power supply.

Oh, and a copy of Gears of War 4 for Windows 10 is included.

All of that will cost you €399 for the Revival Kit.

Bargain?

The good folks at VideoCardz priced out each component, and the total comes mighty close to Nvidia’s bundle price.

With that in mind, I am guessing that Nvidia isn’t really looking to save you money, rather time spent shopping around.

Who is the PC Revival Kit for?

This is probably aimed at those that can’t be bothered looking at great places such as Logical Increments to work out what they need.

For those, such as myself, who tends to act as tech support for family and friends, this will also help you too. How much easier is it going to be to point those with a puter that’s a few years old looking for upgrades at this one-stop package?

Hopefully it will make it to the UK.
