The Mobile World Congress 2017 event is getting closer, and it seems LG will not be waiting for online leakers to tease with information regarding the upcoming LG G6 flagship that will see its announcement over there. Instead of that, the LG Korea released partial information related to featured cameras of the LG G6. Those cameras will be two 13MP units on the rear and a disclosed wide-angle selfie snapper on the front.
The featured rear cameras of the LG G6 will be made of a “normal” 13MP unit and an advanced 13MP camera with a wide 125-degree angle lens. Via this improved design, LG aims at reducing drawbacks that come from digital zoom. According to LG, the featured cameras on the G6 have the closest angle of view to human eye retina compared to any other phone. LG also lists some photography features of the G6, like a 360-degree video recording that make the device play VR-ready videos on its 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
LG’s G6 will share similar camera features with the last year’s V20 dual-camera phone. It also sports a wide-angle selfie camera.
LG will be announcing the G6 flagship in Barcelona later this month, but the handset will be announced with a penalty. The device was planned to be sporting Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset out of the box and be the first phone to have it, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. It results that all of the Snapdragon 835 units will be reserved to Samsung for the Galaxy S8, and LG was forced to find the best alternative to that, it ended up with the last year’s Snapdragon 821 chipset that makes it no better than the majority of other hi-end phone competitors.
