Part of the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona will also be the Chinese mobile manufacturer, Gionee. The phone maker will be holding an event of its own on February 27 where its Gionee A1 and Gionee A1 Plus mobile phones running Android 7.0 Nougat. Gionee A1 leaked yesterday in exclusive renders in Nepal; the published images might belong to one of the versions featuring a 5.5-inch body or to them both. Front side and back side of the handset(s) appears on one of the leaks. As it is clearly visible, the device exposing its front panel has a physical Home button while the phone exposing the back design has a fingerprint mounted on the back. If Gionee is releasing two versions of the A1, there might be one version of the fingerprint sensor on the back and another version with a front-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The one with front-mounted fingerprint must be the Gionee A1 Plus, and it should feature a design of 5.5-inch or larger. As the Gionee A1 has its size confirmed and it is precisely 5.5-inch. Until there is something new regarding the handsets is better to leave conspirative theories and go on with what we know about it.

The Gionee A1 phone will be featuring a 5.5-inch touchscreen display made of the 4th generation of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will be running an octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.8GHz and backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal memory. To highlight its self off, Gionee A1 will be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat with Gionee’s Amigo OS 4.0 skin on top.

Gionee’s new phone will be supporting extended features in terms of photography. The primary camera will be a 13MP with LED flash while the selfie camera will be a better unit of 16MP. The pricing of the handset is expected to be $335, for that price, the phone’s main 13MP camera may support 4K video recording. However, this is just a speculation and not a fact.

Gionee A1 will be a 4G LTE enabled phone with two SIM cards support, WiFi, GPS, and fingerprint sensor. An additional special upgrade consists of the powerful battery that will be housed within the phone. A large 4,100 mAh unit with fast charging that tops its mid-range specs.
