April 5, 2013

We recently spent 5 days in Trinity Beach about 20km north of Cairns.

Arrived mid afternoon , picked up our hire car all went smoothly and our accom did not let us down. We won or bidded for the 5 days away at a travel auction.

Day 1 (full day) was a day we will remember well, went on a half day tour of Cairns and early in the tour we went t photograph stain glass windows in a church. We were told to look out for the steps near the alter. I saw them and handed the camera to Sandra who negotiated all the steps except the last one. No one saw the fall but we all heard it, the sound of landing flat on ones face is not the sond you wish to hear. Three of us rushed back t assist, Sandra was still inspecting the floor at nose distance. We got her to her feet and was made aware her wrist was sore, back on the bus the arm was now hrting. We finished te tour andabout 6.00 pm decided to go to hospital. We left 3.5 hours later with the left arm in a full length half plaster cast. Sandra had broken her arm (radius bone) near the elbow and was to spend the next two weeks away from work.

Day 2 We went to Karunda on the sky rail whch we had donne before owever we still enjoyed it. Sandra's broken arm put a stop to other activities scuba diving, snorkleing, para sailing, jet boat racing etc. Sill we found enough to do .

Day 3 We went to Port Douglas and saw how the rich (or make believe rich) hang out. Although we had been there prior it is still worth having a second or third look.

Day 4. I cannot recall much but whatever it was was a day filled with activites.

Day 5 Went to the Qantas desk asked for seat preference due to broken arm.Qantas looked after us and we were given 3 seats wit the middle one locked out, ie no other passenger could have it.
