10/09/13 T3 is delighted to announce that Adam Hills, star of Channel 4’s critically acclaimed The Last Leg, is to host this year’s T3 Gadget Awards.

Known as the ‘Oscars of the gadget world’, the Ford SYNC presents T3 Gadget Awards in association with Qualcomm & EE recognise and honour the gadgets, software and personalities who have intrigued, inspired and wowed the world over the past twelve months.

Adam Hills is a multi-award winning comedian, and has received international acclaim as one of the world’s most revered stand-up comics. Although he is not an athlete, Hills became a figurehead of the 2012 Paralympic Games due to The Last Leg. The Channel 4 prime time show challenged the British public’s perception of the disabled, whilst receiving critical acclaim. A third series has just begun.

On hosting the awards, he says: “The T3 Gadget Awards are always the highlight of my social calendar – even more so this year, as I’ll be hosting them. Prepare yourself for a night of glitz, glamour, and all the after-party shenanigans that are synonymous with the evening.”

Spread over 17 categories, voting is open until the 24th September for the public to help decide which devices, apps and brands will reign supreme at the star-studded ceremony.

Samsung and Apple lead the way with nine nominations each, coming head-to-head in four categories, including Tech Brand of the Year and the coveted Smartphone of the Year. Sony is nominated in eight categories with its Bravia TV’s and Xperia Tablet performing strongly.

Winners will be decided by reader votes and a panel of expert industry judges, and will be announced at the T3 Gadget Awards 2013 final at Old Billingsgate in London on October 3rd.
