TRAX, the ultimate performance car event, has signed a new deal with energy drinks brand Monster Energy, which will see the ‘Gymkhana GRID’ precision-driving competition hosted in Europe for the very first time.

Taking place at Silverstone on Sunday 2nd September, TRAX will host one of the four qualifying European legs of the ‘Gymkhana GRID’ event, as championed by Ken Block, which will see contestants being pitted head-to-head in a technical driving course.

Based on the quickest elapsed time, the contestants will need to call upon both the speed and style of all types of driving to get round the course. Only the best drivers from each qualifying will prevail to compete against Ken Block in the final round!

This new partnership with Monster Energy will be a key brand relationship for TRAX 2012 and the Adrian Flux Auto series. As part of the partnership, Monster Energy will promote the TRAX brand via their dedicated website, and social media platforms, and will be putting on a hospitality area for all of those attending TRAX to enjoy.

Another high-profile partnership confirmed for TRAX this year is with leading car tuning website Speedhunters.com. The website, which attracts 600k unique visitors and delivered 5.6 million page impressions per month, has a universal love of all things automotive and will be bringing a display of carefully chosen cars to the event.

There will also be appearances from reigning British Touring Car Championship champion, James Nash, who will be tearing up the 0-60 strip, signing autographs on the day and taking out a passenger on the GP circuit. Formula D stars Fredric Aasbo and Dan McNamara will be performing as part of the Maxxis British Drift Championship super-pro round 5 which also takes place at TRAX.

Event Manager Tom Davis says: “Working with such established and well-renowned brands such as Monster Energy and Speedhunters.com is a real coup for us and gives us a chance to extend the TRAX brand to an ever wider audience.

As the final event of the automotive season, TRAX always ends the period in style, and with Gymkhana GRID now confirmed, we’re sure to bring something really unique and exciting to the event.”

Monster Energy’s Vice President of Marketing, Jamal Benmiloud, adds: “Having worked with Ken Block to bring his Gymkhana inspired GRID series to Europe it’s going to be massively exciting to watch the drift scene and hoons vying to go head-to-head with the ace. The round at TRAX is no doubt going to be a highlight of the ‘European Gauntlet’ and we’re looking forward to supporting the UK’s finest as they slay the course.”
