Future Science Group launches International Journal of Pharmacokinetics
Future Science Group (FSG) is excited to announce the launch of the International Journal of Pharmacokinetics, a new peer-reviewed online and print publication dedicated to addressing all aspects of pharmacokinetic research. The journal is the latest addition to the internationally recognized Future Science portfolio and is supported by a multidisciplinary, international editorial board comprising leading researchers and opinion leaders from academia and industry.
The International Journal of Pharmacokinetics captures the latest key innovations and debate emerging in this interdisciplinary field and will serve as an authoritative forum for insights in to the latest advances in the design and execution of pharmacokinetic studies for the next generation of pharmaceutical products. Coverage encompasses the full scope of this far-reaching field, from both pre-clinical and clinical studies on single drugs and drug classes, to explorations of the mechanisms and techniques impacting such studies. The journal also features insights from related areas of endeavor including pharmacodynamics, bioequivalence, pharmacogenetics, toxicity, metabolomics and pharmacometrics.
The inaugural issue presents a wide range of high quality articles including original research from editorial board member Michel Tod and colleagues in which they analyze and compare different techniques for quantitatively predicting the magnitude of drug–drug interactions. This first installment also includes two fascinating commentaries from editorial board members Tomasz Grabowski and David Small on issues with pharmacokinetic terminology used for biologics and for expressing changes in magnitudes of numbers, respectively. In an original research article, Grabowski and colleagues also provide mathematical justification for the use deterministic chaos theory for estimating wash-out value.
FSG is excited to announce that all content published in the International Journal of Pharmacokinetics will be free-to-access until April 2017.
The full contents list for the first issue as well as articles published ahead of print can be viewed at: www.future-science.com/page/loi/ipk
Thoughts from some of our editorial board members
“I’m very excited about the launch of the International Journal of Pharmacokinetics, and I’m looking forward to the advanced knowledge it will provide to clinicians and researchers alike.” – Scott R Penzak, University of North Texas System (TX, USA).
“The International Journal of Pharmacokinetics will provide a highly promising leadership role in medical and scientific publishing through forward-looking perspectives of newly emerging molecular medicine using both Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacogenomic knowledge. I am very proud of the excellent work done by Future Science for providing the highest possible standard of service to our authors, while maintaining an outstanding quality of publishing.” – Farooq A Shiekh, Avalon University School of Medicine (Curacao, Netherlands Antilles).
Call for papers
The editorial office is now actively soliciting contributions of original research, reviews and perspective pieces for the International Journal of Pharmacokinetics. The journal team is also always looking to publish shorter pieces to spark the interest of our readers such as Editorials, Opinions, Commentaries, Interviews, Research Highlights, Conference Scenes and Company/Institutional/Organizational Profiles etc. Unsolicited article proposals are also always welcome, so if you are interested in contributing to the journal, please contact the Commissioning Editor, Adam Price-Evans at a.price-evans@futuremedicine.com
