Call me crazy but I love tax season! That’s because we usually get money back and who doesn’t love that?! It’s like a late Christmas and Uncle Sam is Santa (he’s got the white beard at least). This year I’ve got my eye on some cool Samsung products. Walmart’s got some really great deals so if you’re getting a tax refund like me, you may want to check them out!
Do you love tax season as much as I do? If so, I’m guessing that you’re in the lucky group that actually gets money back from Uncle Sam. I love getting a tax return because it’s almost like a mini savings account that I suddenly have access to. The fun part is getting it back and figuring out what to do with it. Of course, then we have to decide whether we want to use it to pay bills or spend it on something fun. Since I do go by the name FUN Money Mom, I opt to spend it on something fun!
This year it’s going to be hard to narrow it down. Walmart has so many great deals on Samsung products right now that I don’t know where to start! We’ve always been big Samsung fans so I’ll definitely be checking them out. I’m always trying to be careful with what I spend so I really love it when I can buy something fun and still save money. It’s a win/win and I’ve already found three great ways to spend this year’s tax refund…
Samsung 60″ 4K Ultra HD TV
My hubby and I love to watch movies but with two kids, trips to the theater usually involve something animated. When we want to see the latest action movies like Star Wars, we’re usually doing it from the comfort of our sofa. The bonus is that popcorn and drinks are a lot cheaper this way! The downside is that we have a smaller screen. While our TV isn’t bad, I do sometimes find myself wishing that we had a bigger TV.
I’m very tempted to use our tax refund for this new Samsung 60″ Ultra HDTV! Not only would it be awesome to watch our movies on a 60″ TV, this one also has 4K resolution which means that the picture looks 4x sharper than full HD. It also has a slim design and smart view for using mobile devices to watch our favorite TV shows.
Of course, if we get a new Samsung TV, I’m also going to need the Samsung Sound Bar to get the full home theater experience! Since Walmart has great deals on these too, it’s the perfect time.
Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy S7
I love my Samsung Galaxy S6 and wouldn’t trade it for anything, except maybe this new Samsung Galaxy S7. I’m not sure my hubby would go for it since I don’t really need a new phone yet. I really love that it’s waterproof though. This phone can be dropped in five feet of water for up to 30 minutes and it will still work just fine. Considering that my last phone died a tragic death this way, I’d love to have the piece of mind that it couldn’t happen again. Trust me, the rice trick doesn’t always work!
The S7 also has the world’s first duel pixel phone camera, meaning that my night shots will look better than ever. I could also add up to 200GB of memory so I wouldn’t have to resort to deleting when I fill up my phone with pictures. I take a LOT of pictures so this feature is a big bonus!
While I’m totally in love with the GS7 but you may also want to check out the great deals on the GS5 too. With the GS7 at $599 and the GS5 at $199, there’s something for every budget.
Samsung Galaxy Tab E
If you’re in the market for a new tablet, check out this Samsung Galaxy Tab E. I love that you can use these tablets for practically everything. They’re great for watching movies, reading books, taking pictures, checking social media and a million other things. If you have kids, you already know that having a tablet is essential! The kids stay entertained on car trips and in waiting rooms and I honestly have no idea how my parents ever lived without them. Plus, with so many educational apps these days, this is a great way to teach those little ones some extra math and reading skills (and the best part is that they think they’re just playing a game).
While I’m loving all these deals, the 60″ TV is definitely at the top of my wish list! Which one of these would you buy with your tax return?
