Lloyds Bank Foundation for Northern Ireland has changed its name to the Halifax Foundation.

As well as the name change the Foundation has made changes to its grant giving. The Foundation will now accept applications throughout the year, no longer working towards quarterly closing dates. Applications will now take around four months for the decision process to take place.

The other change is that the Foundation will no longer be in a position to support organisations which are not registered charities.

Sandara Kelso-Robb, Foundation Executive Director, announces the new name for the Foundation

Foundation Executive Director, Sandara Kelso-Robb, said the decision to rebrand was made because the Halifax, which is part of Lloyds Banking Group, has a very strong presence in Northern Ireland with 16 local branches, a major contact centre and many thousands of customers.

Annually, the renamed Halifax Foundation provides grants worth nearly £1.3 million. Last year the Foundation approved grants of £1.27 million, amounting to 647 separate grants.
