Manna Gallery is pleased to present “Cirque”, an exhibition of new paintings by Elaine Maute. Elaine’s artwork will be on view from November 6 to December 19, 2015.
A reception for the artist will take place on Saturday, November 7, from 2 to 4 pm, when she will be present to greet gallery visitors and discuss her newest work.
In these latest paintings, Elaine explores the movement and whimsy of the circus. She uses abstract shapes of line and color to convey the circus’s ephemeral spirit centering on imagination and her own memories of circuses past.
Elaine is an artist and educator living in Oakland California and is a co-founder of Manna Gallery. Her work has been shown at various Bay area art venues, including the San Francisco Art Fair at Fort Mason, Alta Bates Hospital and San Pablo City Art Gallery.
