Gaylord National Christmas at the Potomac 2016

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year….” After last weeks visit to the Gaylord National, I really can’t get the song out of my head… I am ready for Christmas!

Visiting the Gaylord National was an amazing way to get into the holiday spirit. The resort and convention center were beautifully decorated. It’s hard not to feel festive when you marvel at more than 2 million twinkling lights around a 55-foot tree. When visiting the nightly light show at Gaylord National’s Christmas on the Potomac, it snows inside and fountains dance beautifully in time to the music. It’s great for a stroll inside their gardens and perhaps a stop for a warm cup of coffee.

Hohoho…we had a visit with Santa this morning @gaylordnational. It turns out these three are on the nice list!! #christmasonthepotomac #blueparka #gaylordnational #ICE #babysfirstchristmas

There is much more to the Gaylord at Christmastime than just a magical tree show.  This year we had a lovely brunch with Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Lucy. Afterwards, my family and I took advantage of the Play All Day + ICE! This is the all encompassing package. It’s purchase saves you an immediate $35 dollars (over buying individually) and bundles their five popular holiday events including admission of ICE!, Gingerbread Decorating Corner, three amusement park rides, The Elf on the Shelf® Scavenger Hunt and a cup of Hot Cocoa! My girls loved finding The Elf on the Shelf around the hotel (after all, we are an Elf on the Shelf Family). We also had a great time visiting Santa – it was our little guys first visit. The event and fun was topped off with ICE! and four magical slides of fun – even I took a few spins down!

Brrr, it's cold @GaylordNational. Another fun year of ICE! Even mom took a spin on the slides and tea cups! #gaylordnational #ICE #christmasonthepotomac #Nationalharbor #BlueParka #hosted

Experience the magic of more than TWO MILLION pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures and slide down two-story ice slides. All kept at a chilly 9 degrees! Delight in the celebration of cultures through holiday scenes and travel to the North Pole to see Santa and his elves.

Truly it’s a family event to remember, my children could not stop saying “thank you” and “mom is the best!”

Christmas on the Potomac comes to Gaylord National Resort featuring ICE!

November 19, 2016 – January 1, 2017
