Marion, Ill. (November 20, 2014) – The Southern Illinois Miners announce that they will play a total of six preseason games in 2015 against the Gateway Grizzlies, Evansville Otters and the Wichita Wingnuts of the American Association.

The first preseason game for the defending East division champs will take place in Marion on Tuesday, May 5th at 10:00 a.m. against Gateway. The Miners will then make a return trip to GCS Ballpark to face the Grizzlies the following day in Sauget at 11:30 a.m.

On Friday, May 8th, the Miners will trek to Bosse Field in Evansville to play the first of three preseason games against the Otters at 6:30 p.m. The following day, Saturday, May 9th, the Miners and Otters will continue a long tradition of playing a preseason game at historic Brooks Stadium in Paducah, Kentucky at 7:00 p.m. It will mark the eighth consecutive year the two teams will meet in Paducah.

The Miners will then wrap up their preseason slate with two more games at Rent One Park. On Monday, May 11th, the Miners will welcome the Wichita Wingnuts of the American Association for a 10:00 a.m. contest before hosting Evansville on Tuesday, May 12th, also at 10:00 a.m.
