Sauget, IL – The Frontier League has released its schedule for the 2015 season, which will feature a return of all 14 clubs from the 2014 season playing a 96-game, full-season format.  Opening day for the 2014 season will be on May 14, with the regular season concluding on Sunday, September 6.

Continuing with the Cincinnati-area baseball tradition, the Florence Freedom will be one of the first clubs to open the 2015 season when they host the Joliet Slammers on Thursday, May 14. The Windy City ThunderBolts will also host the Schaumburg Boomers on Thursday, May 14 in a single game between Chicago area teams. On Friday May 15, the other 12 teams will open their seasons, with series including a matchup between 2014 playoff clubs as the Washington Wild Things host the defending champion Boomers, the Southern Illinois Miners visit the Lake Erie Crushers in another battle between playoff teams from this past season, the Evansville Otters host the Traverse City Beach Bums, the River City Rascals host the Normal CornBelters, the Rockford Aviators visit the Gateway Grizzlies and the Frontier Greys travel to Windy City to face the ThunderBolts.  Each of these series will begin on Friday, May 15.

The 2015 divisional alignment will remain the same, with Evansville, Florence, the Greys, Lake Erie, Southern Illinois, Traverse City, and Washington in the East and Gateway, Joliet, Normal, River City, Rockford, Schaumburg, and Schaumburg in the West.

The Boomers will return to Schaumburg as back to back defending champions on Friday, May 22 as they host the Lake Erie Crushers then will welcome the River City Rascals in a 2014 Championship Series rematch from Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31 before travelling to River City for a series from Tuesday, July 21 to Thursday, July 23.

The 2015 All-Star events will begin on Monday, July 13 and conclude with the All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 15 at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

Highlights of the 2015 schedule include a Memorial Day match-up between the Greys and Gateway on Monday, May 25, the 100th anniversary celebration for Historic Bosse Field in Evansville, which will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 17; the Traverse City Beach Bums’ Welcome Home Celebration on Saturday, July 4; and the Gateway Grizzlies’ Greatest Night in Baseball on Sunday, September 6.

The 2015 playoffs will begin on Tuesday, September 8.
