The Kids’ Choice Awards Slime Booth will be at Stonebriar Centre mall in Frisco this weekend as an advance to the Nickelodeon awards show in Los Angeles. Several Frisco ISD music groups have signed up to perform at next weekend’s Arts in the Square. The annual festival will be March 29-30 in Frisco Square. All Frisco ISD elementary schools will hold Kindergarten Round-Up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 7-11. Hours on April 8 are extended until 7 p.m. Parents are invited to pre-register their children to enter kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year. They should contact the school that their child will attend in the fall. In the case of schools that open in the fall, parents should go to the school their home is currently zoned to attend. Elevate Life Church is hosting a Parent Summit on Saturday for parents, grandparents and future parents of toddlers through teens. Sessions will be run by Marilyn Morris, the founder of Aim for Success. She will address issues related to sex, tobacco, alcohol, drugs and bullying. The summit will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, 8500 Teel Parkway. Cost is $10 per person. Childcare is available for $7. Click here to register.
The office of state Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Frisco) is accepting applications for the House District 106 Internship Program and Legislative Leadership Council. These programs give local high school students the chance to connect with the political process and see the daily functions of a legislative office. Interns assist at Fallon’s Little Elm office, get to attend local events and help with community service initiatives. Those chosen for the leadership council meet quarterly with Fallon and other guest speakers to learn about the different roles of the levels of government.
