Frisco’s annual Frosty 5K & Merry Mile will be Saturday at Simpson Plaza in Frisco Square, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. The Merry Mile starts at 8 a.m., and the 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. Race day registration starts at 7 a.m. Streets in and around Frisco Square will be closed on Saturday morning for the event. Click here to learn more.

Community and school groups continue performing in a series of concerts dubbed the Sounds of the Season at Stonebriar Centre mall. Concerts are scheduled on Friday and Saturday in the lower level Nordstrom Court area of the mall. Tickets are still available for the Polar Express Pajama Party at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Frisco Discovery Center. Children are invited to wear their pjs as they watch the movie. Norma’s Cafe will be celebrating National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day at its three locations on Friday. Guests who dine at the cafe in their ugly sweater that day will receive a free slice of pie while supplies last. The Frisco location is at 8300 Gaylord Parkway.

Reminder: Saturday is National Wreaths Across American Day. A ceremony will be held at 10:50 a.m. Saturday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery to honor veterans. This year’s guest speaker is Maj. Gen. Keith Lee Thurgood. After a brief ceremony, everyone who attends will get to help place the holiday wreaths among the more than 44,000 gravesites.
