Before adopting or amending an Operating Rule or changing the fine schedule, the Board must provide notice of a proposed rule change at least 30 days before making the rule change (per the Davis-Stirling Act). Below are 30-Day Readings from July:

Rule Revisions – Lake and Marina Boat Length

Current Rule – LM.7.2 – No Boats Permitted Over Twenty-One (21) Feet / Measurement Required. Boats over twenty-one (21) feet in length are prohibited for use on Canyon Lake. All boats (existing and new) shall be required to be physically measured by the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association to make certain they comply with the Associations boat length limitation before a “safety certificate” and registration certificate can be issued. All boats shall be measured by these established guidelines.

Proposed Revised Rule – LM.7.2 – No Boats Permitted Over Twenty-two feet six inches (22’6”). Boats over twenty-two feet six inches (22’6”) in length are prohibited for use on Canyon Lake. All boats (existing and new) may be required to be physically measured by the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association to make certain they comply with the Associations boat length limitation and Department of Motor Vehicle Registration before a “safety certificate” and registration certificate can be issued. Verification will be based on the Department of Motor Vehicle registration documentation. Marine Patrol has the authority to inspect and measure any boat that does not appear to match the measurements on the Department of Motor Vehicle Registration. Registration and manufacturer specs must match. All boats shall be measured by these established guidelines.

Boats are to measured from extreme tip of bow to stern.
All rubber strips, light fixtures and reflectors shall be excluded from measurement.
All swim steps (whether attached or molded) shall be excluded from the measurement.

All step up transoms shall be excluded from the measurement.
All motors and out drives shall be excluded from the measurement.

Proposed Revised Rule – LM.7.2a – Guidelines for Measuring Non– Pontoon Boats (including Sail Boats, Pickle Forks, etc):
Boats are to measured from extreme tip of bow to stern.
All attached swim steps shall be excluded from the measurement.

All motors and out drives shall be excluded from the measurement.

Pontoon Boats shall be measured by the surface deck from front to back.
All pontoon flotation devices shall be excluded from the measurement.

All boats on the lake must be registered with the CLPOA including boats twenty-one (21) feet or less, sailboats, kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, paddle boards and windsurfers [“boats”] and must display current CLPOA registration stickers on both sides of the bow. Any unregistered boat or water device which requires registration found on the lake is subject to a fine.

Current Rule – General Rules – Section V – Rules for Motor Vehicles – GR.5.3a – Restrictions for Parking of Any Vehicle for Sale. No Vehicle shall be parked in the common areas that displays a “For Sale” sign that is not owned by a member of this Association. The vehicle shall be currently registered in the State of California or any other state to the member offering the vehicle. Said vehicle shall not be parked in front of a residence not owned by the member offering the vehicle “For Sale” unless the owner of the residence gives such permission in writing and the written permission is displayed in the window of said vehicle.

Proposed Revised Rule – General Rules – Section V – Rules for Motor Vehicles – GR.5.3a – Restrictions for Parking of Any Vehicle for Sale. All vehicles with a “For Sale” sign shall not be parked in any common area other than in front of the vehicle owners own tract and lot. The vehicle must be currently registered in the state of California or any other state the member may have currently registered. Said vehicle shall not be parked in front of a tract and lot not owned by the member offering the vehicle “For Sale” unless the owner of the residence gives such permission in writing and the written permission is displayed in the window of said vehicle.

Proposed New Rule – Glass Containers

Parks and Beaches – Section II – Parks and Beaches Rules – PB.2.10: No glass containers of any kind are allowed within the beaches. Fine in the amount of $50.00 per occurrence
